Last month, Steve Aoki revealed that he’s been in the studio with some unexpected collaborators working on a few tracks that would shock the world. The Dim Mak label head got in the studio with the American Idol star, Adam Lambert, and the Dutch youngster, Felix Jaehn, on his latest effort, “Can’t Go Home,” for one of the most unexpected collaborations that we’ve seen in years. While the three artists come from vastly different backgrounds, their work on “Can’t Go Home” together meshes seamlessly, as Aoki steers away from his typical electro house stylings in favor of Jaehn’s uplifting, sun-soaked brand of melodic house. The talented duo of producers lay down soaring flute melodies and smooth percussions to bolster Lambert’s pop croons.

We’ve officially entered a different realm in American music culture, if you’re making big-room, progressive or electro, you’re left behind. If you’re making genres popularized in the last 2 years, you’re competing.

One artist doing more than just competing is Spirix, his chill house sound pushes the limits of elements currently trending within the realm of deep house, future house, melodic house ect. The vocal wasn’t a bad add either, just another part that has become a new standard for dance music artists in general, but is well suited in Spirix’s case – its not just about instrumentals, its about a full experience, and vocals within “Something About You (feat. ALIUS)” raise the quality of the experience tenfold.

One word: WOW. Elephante’s newest original track, “Black Ivory”, just absolutely blew our minds! Being used to the progressive/electro elements that we usually find in Phante’s tracks, “Black Ivory” goes to show that Elephante is a producer that can defy genres and explore limitless possibilities. While that classic Elephante sound can still be heard, this new original production takes a more “future bass” approach, complete with hard hitting yet melodic drops, energetic bass lines, and also some actual elephant sounds! Don’t believe me? See for yourself by checking out the track now!
