Dubstep | R Rated #64
Posted by Mach on March 1, 2013
Decided to save this weeks R Rated, and for good reason. Sick, nasty tunes have been dropping like flies. For Sev and I to keep up has been an adventure, but I hope everyone enjoys the fruits of our labor. To kick off R this week is actually a Trap tune, one of the heaviest Trap tracks that Sev & I have ever heard. Kai Wachi & Squnto must have been craving some twerkable filth because this track is insane! I am still on the fence about Trap, but if you are going to have it, this track is a must have.

Au5 & I.Y.F.F.E (In Your Face F*ck Everything) have been bass predators as of late. The two have been feature on some the most insane Dubstep tracks. This remix they jumped on in with Auratic and Lafunkt is a behemoth, I can slowly sense myself going deaf every time I press play.
Don’t let these first tracks fool you, this is one of our biggest R Rated posts to date.
Electro-House | Bassjackers & Dyro – Grid
Posted by Middy on February 18, 2013
Producer / Dj duo Bassjackers have teamed up with hot in demand Revealed Records producer, Dyro, fresh off of his Canadian bus tour with Hardwell & Dannic on “Grid”. This melodic yet uptempo and grungy electro track is a unique melding of both big room and electro house that relies on the quick key play and a complex low end. “Grid” combines styles from both producers and gives us something in both of their discographies, where Dyro’s sound is something he can hang his hat on, but has become a little repetitive of late and Bassjackers has not had a really big single like this one in a while. Already supported by your pick of the top Djs, expect to hear this often over the next few months.

Dubstep | Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor – Running To The Sea (Protohype & Carnage Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 15, 2013
It takes something special for a dubstep track to really catch my ear and make me want to post it and this remix of Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor’s recent single “Running To The Sea” has done just that. Protohype has been slowly building a name for himself with a steady output of electro and dubstep tracks over the past few years and Carnage has been a name people have really turned onto with his recent trap remixes, though he has a more diverse discography then just trap. This melodic dubstep remix starts smooth with the etheral vocals from Susanne Sundfor and soft piano and then drops into a 2 step dubstep breakdown with a grinding low end and alternating bass line mixed in. Do not sleep on either of these producers and especially not this track.

Progressive House | Eitro – Verve
Posted by Middy on February 15, 2013
Eitro put his name on the map last year with his single “True Story” and later in the year with his high powered electro track “Character” that became a bootleg favorite of many. Eitro shows off his melodic tendencies with an outstanding combined piano driven build with guitar riffs adding texture and a synth laden drop with well placed electro growls. If you want something more minimal and percussive, Kitsch 2.0 goes for a more stripped back drop that may make it the more popular of the bunch.

Dubstep, Preview | Koven – No Blocks
Posted by Mach on February 12, 2013
People need to know Koven. His upcoming EP, “More Than You” is going to be a chart topper, I can just feel it. He incorporates the melodic vibes that everyone loves but also rocks bass to your core like no other. “No Blocks” is what Koven does. The melody takes you for a smooth ride until you meet the drop, and from there it sends chilling bass through you until the next lull. Koven’s EP “More Than You” releases on March 4th through Viper Recordings.
Hip-Hop, Videos | PropaneLv ft. Pen Stein – On The Road [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on February 10, 2013
PropaneLv drops off his latest original release featuring Pen Stein. “On The Road” is the ballad of an up & comer with a melodic hook complimented by some screwed vocals working nicely for the Portlander. The visual by Martin Van Londen fits well and features great scenery of Portland’s bridges and waterfront. If you’re not familiar, PropaneLv has an ongoing cover series over on his YouTube and this original is available for download below.

Progressive House | Lift Off #008
Posted by Middy on February 9, 2013
Finally after a little longer than usual break, the 8th edition of Lift Off is here and as per usual we have packed it filled with gems. This Lift Off marks the first official contribution from our new author Malcolm or “Mel”, so look for more great tracks from him. The first track above is the vocal mix of Anakyn’s single “Point Black”, which previously saw a edit from Nicky Romero and adds another harmonic dimension to the track.

DubVision are among the best at coming up with progressive melodies and this remix of “Summertime” is no different. They stick to the same winning formula of “All By Myself”, “You & I” etc and deliver a peaktime, big room remix. Would like to see them switch it up a little, but for now it is working.
Paris Blohm delivers this emotional, uplifting track as a tribute to his sister who recently passed away. Female vocals add to the superb melody crafted by the young up and comer.
This remix from the Chainsmokers of Jonsi’s (singer of Sigur Ros) “Around Us” has been incredibly successful with its addictive melody and well placed stutters. This is a must have.
