Dubstep | Nero – Into The Past (Preview)
Posted by Middy on April 23, 2013
There are few films generating the buzz of The Great Gatsby, and its soundtrack is a part of that. Executively produced by Jay-Z, the star-studded soundtrack has contributions from Florence & The Machine, Lana del Rey, Jay-Z, Nero, Gotye and many more. The full preview of Nero’s contribution has been released by Interscope (who is still dealing with the will.i.scam scandal), giving us a peak into their production process that has been quiet of late as they gear up for their first album since 2011 album, “Welcome Reality“.
The cinematic single from the British dubstep trio, “Into The Past”, shows the complex, melodic stylings that have made them one of the hottest dubstep groups today. The combination of emotive strings, female vocals from the third member of the trio, Alana, and a soothing low end, makes this a perfect contribution for the movie from Nero. The entire soundtrack will be released May 7th

Dubstep | R Rated #67
Posted by Sev on April 17, 2013
This weeks R Rated is filled with amazing free downloads, but to start it off we have a aggressive yet melodic mix for you guys. Konec has been an artist we have been keeping an eye on for quite some time now and seeing him on Darkstep’s channel came to us as quite a shock. Darkstep is known for his heavy hitting, less melodic uploads, but he saw something in this mix that made him post it. The whole mix is full of amazing tracks released and unreleased that Konec threw together in preparation for his EP release that is still TBA. This mix features the four tracks that are going to be on the Futures EP and they are all quality.
We haven’t had a free download from xKore in quite some time now, but we finally got one. Not any of his own material yet, but this remix will do until we hear about his next EP. Having already had one remix for Modestep released on their album, this one was just a complementary gift. The track keeps xKore’s highly known aggressive style intact and provides some great vocals to go along from Modestep.
This next track was kind of hard to categorize, for two reasons. One reason is that it sounds nothing like a trap track, yet thats what Cazzette decided to label it as. The second reason is because this isn’t Cazzette’s usual style, so using my best judgement I felt R rated was the best fit for it. The title might throw you off being that everyone is sick of the Harlem Shake already, but Cazzette don’t really use much of the original and created a pretty heavy drop as a replacement.
Looks like Terravita are a little too excited for 4/20. They couldn’t wait a few more days to release this banger, but I’m not really complaining about having this track early. This awesome reggae influenced dubstep remix is the perfect tune for everyone’s 4/20 celebrations no matter what you are doing.
We have already posted our favorite remix of Getter’s – Fallout by Masq, but Nato Feelz put out this amazing close second so we thought it deserved a post. Besides some of the vocal samples, Nato Feelz doesn’t use much more in this remix which made the track stand out even more.
Dubstep, Preview | MitiS Ft. Collin McLoughlin – Born (Vocal Mix)
Posted by Mach on April 17, 2013
MitiS and Collin McLoughlin have been all of the place lately. I got extremely excited when I saw they collaborated together for a vocal mix. MitiS produced another extraordinary Dubstep original and Collin has done nothing but show us that 2013 is his year. My only negative is that this preview is too short, I NEED MOAR! Luckily we wont have to wait long since MitiS and Collin McLoughlin plan on dropping this gem tomorrow for free.
Chill, Dubstep | Gemini – Fire Inside (Mr FijiWiji Remix)
Posted by Mach on April 16, 2013
It is just a natural connection that when I think beautiful melodic tunes that Mr FijiWiji comes to mind. This is the most incredible remix of “Fire Inside” to date in my opinion. Mr FijiWiji’s intro is simple yet elegant, calmly carrying you like a river carries fish to the ocean. The drop happens to be one of the more breathtaking oceans I’ve ever heard of.

Trance | Estiva & Jeera Lert – Come Home
Posted by Spice on April 10, 2013
Estiva is rapidly proving himself to be a dominant force in the world of melodic trance, and this latest addition to his collection is nothing short of a masterpiece. “Come Home” flirts with a dubsteppy bassline before delivering a breathless and euphoric break that’s positively radiant. And those vocals? How about those vocals? I know, I know, I’m drooling all over this song — but give it a listen and I’m sure you’ll understand. Look for this one to turn up in more places now that it’s seen an official release.

Progressive House | Special Features – Illusions
Posted by Middy on April 9, 2013
British producer Eden Anderson, aka Special Features, coming off of his remix of Walden’s “Intropial“, makes his triumphant return to Big Beat Records with his new single “Illusions“. A name who has cemented himself as must watch up and comer, makes his single debut on New York City based, Big Beat Records, which is having a great year of its own with releases like “Together We Are” and the Kill Paris remix of Rudimental‘s “Feel The Love“. “Illusions” provdes much of the same melodic tendencies we have seen in the past with Special Features, using fast paced key work, playful arps and cheery melodies to create yet another outstanding production. On the horizon, Special Features has a remix coming for Ellie Goulding, which knowing her vocal prowess and his production style, it should mesh very well.

Progressive House | Henrix – Rock This Dream EP
Posted by Middy on April 9, 2013
Henrix has been nearly unstoppable lately proving himself as a name to watch in 2013, with his Size Records release “Hit It” with fellow Miami producers Digital Lab and GTA still tearing up sets across the globe and leaving its mark as one of the biggest tracks of the year thus far. The EP sandwiches 2 Henrix’s signature driving tracks around another big room room collab with Swedish wunderkid Jakob Liedholm.
“Rock This Dream” has been sitting near the top of the DMC Buzzchart for quite some time now as Laidback Luke reaps the benefits of signing this track that was deemed “not EDM enough” by some labels. The opening vocals from Roland Clark set the tone for a powerful, hard hitting percussive drop that even Laidback Luke is dreaming about. The second collab between Henrix & Jakob Liedholm “Losing My Mind“, takes Jakob Liedholms seemingly inexhaustible ability to create uplifting melodies and pairs it with Henrix’s melodic tendencies, all accentuated by Giuseppe Viola‘s outstanding vocal. “Viral” may get the least buzz on the EP at the end of the day, but do not sleep on this driving track that uses a cheeky sample of “Kashmir” from Led Zeppelin.
