Electro, Indie | Purity Ring – Obedear

This song speaks for itself for the most part. The bass is perfect, lyrics.. perfect. Beat – spot on. This is an unofficial video but Purity Ring has good songs for days. Check out their page here.
Bootleg, House | Claptone – No Eyes (feat. Jaw) [Gamper & Dadoni Remix]
Posted by yabishcic on November 23, 2013
This song has a great use of saxophone, and who doesn’t love the saxophone? With a little housey-house and some good lyrics, Claptone and Gamper & Dadoni make for a deep, mellow, enjoyable song.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Selah the Corner & Bizzle – Foreign Exchange

For anyone who is into Drake’s newest album drop, you will appreciate this re-do of his beat. The lyrics in this song really got me, and that is why I loovveeeee hip-hop. Such a good voice throughout this beat and Selah the Corner & Bizzle really hit it on the head. Take a listen.
Chill | Koda – Staying

“Staying” by Koda is absolutely breathtaking. This was one of the few tracks where I stopped what I was doing to say “wow”! It’s quiet, emotional, and the lyrics are as pretty as the guitar gliding up and down in the background. Although hard to categorize, this song was too beautiful to pass up, and it’s free!
Hip-Hop, Rap | OFWGKTA – Extinguisher

Most people veer away from Odd Future for their explicit and uncomfortable lyrics, but personally, I love the controversy. They turn heads and interest people in the most unnerving way, which is what music is all about. Mellowhigh – which is a collaboration of Mellowhype’s Hodgy Beats & Left Brain – created a lot of anticipation for their upcoming, self-titled album with the release of the single ‘Extinguisher’. Not too long, only 2 minutes long, with great production and a solid beat, I’m impressed and excited for the album.
Alternative, Indie | Generationals – Put a Light On It
Posted by yabishcic on October 9, 2013
I’m not one to jump to Alternative / Indie right off the bat but after my boyfriend turned me onto the Generationals, I simply could notttt get enough. Definitely a band for the masses with feel good sounds and exceptional lyrics; wouldn’t be surprised if I start hearing them on the radio soon. Enjoy one of my favorites from their most recent endeavor ‘Heza’.
