You just got VMG’d.
More than halfway through his 25-city, nationwide tour, Logic shares with us the newest installment of tour life inJust Another Day Episode 12. He is not only selling out venues across the country, he is taking independent music to an entirely new level. Seeing Logic live is more than a concert, it’s an experience. No two shows are the same which is made evident in this video. Have you ever seen an artist pause his set to pick up the phone of a kid in the audience to talk to his buddy on the other end, asking why he didn’t make it to the show? Doubtful. You’re experiencing the birth of a star. Other than the dude in the San Fran pullover showcasing his vocals outside the Mac N’ Cheese shop, very few can keep up in the lane Logic’s currently cruising in. We’ve posted QuESt a couple times in the past, the first being when he dropped his most recent mixtape, Fear Not Failure. Here we have a new video from the Miami native, which can be found on that mixtape, which also includes features from Logic and Mickey Factz. As a bonus, I’ve added in a record that didn’t make the cut for Fear Not Failure, but definitely deserves a listen. In other news, QuESt just finished his stint on tour, opening up for Logic and Tayyib on the VMG tour for the first few shows, so I think it’s fair to expect more collabs from the two in the future.

It’s been three months since Logic dropped his junior mixtape, Young Sinatra: Undeniable. With that we received the last episode of Logic’s web series, Just Another Day, which showcased the making of the mixtape. While Logics stock has skyrocketed since late April, solidifying him as one of the hottest young artists on the rise today, he shares with us the first official release of new material since the mixtape dropped. While Logic and labelmate, Tayyib Ali have been on tour for about 10 days now, GRVTY put together a compilation of footage showing us just how fun Logic makes tour life. Cop your tickets to your local show HERE.

Lyrical murder has been caused on this track. Pals C Dot Castro and Logic completely and utterly destroy this track, which is set to be on C Dot’s upcoming mixtape. Enjoy this song and your fourth, maybe even at the same time! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | YONAS – The Transition [Mixtape]
Posted by Grubeats on June 25, 2012
The moment YONAS’ music first graced my ears, I knew I had come across a special individual. That was a couple months before the Bronx, NY native had released his debut independent album, The Proven Theory. At the time, I didn’t know much about YONAS outside what I had extracted from the few singles I had heard. I went on his website and ordered myself a copy of his album. When I received it in the mail a week later, packed & shipped from his managers apartment, I realized just how independent and driven this kid was. Since then, The Proven Theory has not left the 10-disc visor folder in my car. It’s my go to.
Several singles, remixes, and videos later, Y-O welcomes us to The Transition. A comprehensive 15-track project featuring a contagious blend of hip-hop infused with electronic beats, hard hitting bass, and conceptual rhymes. There’s no question YONAS is a bully in the booth, but he articulates his rhymes as well as any artist in the game. He has flourished largely because of his versatile style and confidence to make the music he wants to make. Featuring 7 previously released tracks, along with 8 brand new ones, this project has something for everyone. Young Sinatra aka Logic, makes a guest spot on the tape along with one of YONAS’ idols, Brother Ali, as well as Scotty James. Production credits due to Sean Divine (YONAS’s right hand man who has been credited with the majority of his original production to date), along with DJ Corbett, & Sean Ross among others. For any new listener, keep an open mind and embrace the art YONAS has created. This is a must download. #TheTransition.
