One, this cover might be the best artwork we’ve seen. Two, holy shit Kap Slap.
Electro-House | Bass Kleph – Going Crazy
Posted by Middy on January 3, 2014
Bass Kleph is known for his crazy live shows with on the spot improvisation and live recreation of tracks in a way that nobody else does. In addition to his prowess as a live performer, his production abilities are quite good as well, seen earlier this summer with “Gum” on Lazy Rich’s Big Fish Recordings. “Going Crazy” provides tough electro chords, contrasted by male vocals and deft piano and synth play for a well-rounded, melodic, yet hard hitting track.

Electro | Felix Cartal – New Scene FT. Ofelia (Lazy Rich Remix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on November 21, 2013
Here is another great electro remix from Lazy Rich, adding to the list of great remixes of this song. I really appreciate that he puts a different spin his remixes. Although I can always anticipate that I’m going to get a fat, meaty electro drop, the presentation is always a surprise. The short lines of big synths during the build are very cool. Even though the drop sounds a bit generic, the little things make a difference for me: the wide, fat synths, the layering and roughness added to them, the pattern they’re arranged in, and the fact that it meshes so well with the interesting build. It doesn’t feel like a cut-and-paste remix, where the drop could have been slapped into any other song.
Lazy Rich notoriously posts previews of these big remixes, including all of the juicy bits that get you jazzed up for the release – which in this case will be on December 3rd. You can pre-order now, or just wear the sh*t out of the preview. Either way, I encourage you to get excited for December 3rd.
Electro-House | Lazy Rich – Insomnia (Incl John Dahlback Remix)
Posted by Middy on March 7, 2013
Canadian Lazy Rich makes his return to Chris Lake’s Rising Music with a new single “Insomnia” tabbing the label head’s wife, Gita Lake for vocals. Gita Lake’s vocals accompany a smooth piano driven build that crescendoes into a vintage Lazy Rich drop with gritty low end synths and a thumping bass line. John Dahlback continues his high rate of production going into WMC with a solid remix of blaring bleeps and well timed electro growls.
Electro-House | Lazy Rich – Brainfreeze
Posted by Middy on January 21, 2013
Lazy Rich much like Wolfgang Gartner, is revered by other Djs for the quality of the productions and “Brainfreeze” is a prime example of that. Lazy Rich contrasts melodic builds with gritty drops of grinding electro saws and powerful bass lines that make this one of the premier releases on Doorn Records in the past few months. With a collab on the way with Syn Cole, a remix for Wideboys and a single on Chris Lake led Rising Music set for release next month, Lazy Rich is wasting no time making his mark on 2013.

Progressive House | Clinton VanSciver & Tony Fresch – Sweet Surrender (Original Mix)
Posted by Juicebox on November 14, 2012
Sweet Surrender is the first release from new Los Angeles-based label Prep School Recordings, and what an inaugural release it is. Shooting up to #23 [as of today] on Beatport’s Progressive House release charts isn’t the kind of thing we normally expect from new imprints, but there’s something different about these guys. The package itself contains the original mix and three remixes, rounded out nicely with both gritty electro and smooth house.
The two standouts are the original mix, produced by Clinton VanSciver & Tony Fresch, and the Ultra Foxx remix, which takes those great melodies and mixes them into a complextro sound ready to make any Porter Robinson or Lazy Rich fan drool for more. Check the entire package out here and check out Prep School Recordings official website out here. Keep an eye out for all of these guys & the label itself, big things are coming.
House, Videos | EDM Video Roundup – September
Posted by Middy on October 4, 2012
After doing a roundup for August, we are back to give you the best EDM videos from September. We start off with the video for Madeon’s “The City” that involves an intense chalk fight between two sides in an abandoned factory area. This video must have been a blast to be in and really needs to be recreated in real life. It emulated the colorful twists of Madeon’s nu-disco sound. We continue after the jump with more from Lazy Rich & Chris Lake, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Thomas Gold & more.
