EDM Video Roundup – September

Posted by on October 4, 2012

After doing a roundup for August, we are back to give you the best EDM videos from September. We start off with the video for Madeon’s “The City” that involves an intense chalk fight between two sides in an abandoned factory area. This video must have been a blast to be in and really needs to be recreated in real life. It emulated the colorful twists of Madeon’s nu-disco sound. We continue after the jump with more from Lazy Rich & Chris Lake, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Thomas Gold & more.

This video for Chris Lake & Lazy Rich’s latest track “Stand Alone” is superb. The dodgeball theme fits perfectly with the song in a strange way that has the electro stabs correspond to the intense moments of the dodgeball matches. Watch to the end as this gripping match unfolds.

Yes I know this was in August, but it was the very end of August. Also interestingly enough deadmau5 recently said he wants to split with Ultra Records, and part of the reason was due to ads on his youtube videos, which you see on this video. This was the highest budget music video ever for an EDM music video and it shows with the technology and set up. Also, Meowingtons always wins.

Usually you can rag on Geutta for not being very creative, but this video is quite unique and cool. The woman becomes a wolf and defeats her hunters with a display of some twisted distorted special effect / a shockwave. NSFW.

Here is the video for Calvin Harris’s upcoming track with Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine that portrays Calvin Harris as somewhat of a hero, paying a group of guys to beat the living pulp out of Florence Welch’s abusive boyfriend and we see how it impacts everyone involved in an emotional, roller-coaster like video. Release of the track with remixes from Tiesto & Qulinez October 14th.

This video is yet another strange music video from Avicii, following his videos for “Levels” and “Silhouettes”. It is the story of the guy who doesn’t have the courage to ask a girl out and can’t get her out of his head…literally.

This one isn’t really a music video, but rather a recap of Thomas Gold’s summer that takes us to his shows in Ibiza and across Europe in Greece and dramatically in Tomorrowland. We finally land back in the US for his epic Governor’s Island show. Also Thomas Gold will be doing his debut essential mix November 3rd, so tune in for that.

This is also another video that is not necessarily a music video per say, but is rather an interview / bio of NYC legend Danny Tenaglia in preparation of his performance at Sensation coming up on Friday October 26th. Check it out to find out how he got into the scene in the 70s and the trajectory of his career and how hard he has worked over the span of his 30+ year career.

The last video is the teaser for the upcoming video for Alesso’s “Years” that is set to release on Monday, October 8th. It features Sebastian Ingrosso running around and takes us on the “journey” of Alesso’s career that includes him being kind of a sketchball and getting some fine women.
