Out as part of the Elliptical Sun Melodies [ESM133] compilation, Musty hits it out of the park, taking us a on a feel-trip to the mystical playgrounds residing among the cloud. He adds to the quality content consistently provided by the label, with high frequency synths and a melodic chord progression that showcases his aptitude as a melodic progressive producer. Hats off to Musty for this one.

House | Jessie J ft. 2 Chainz – Burnin’ Up (Don Diablo Remix)

I despise major label contracted remixes. There’s something about knowing that an out of touch person at a label grasping for relevancy reaches out to notable (actually cool) producers to remix their mindless top 40 radio smash. Just doesn’t sit well. That said, I’m a forgiving blogger and can read between the lines. Earlier this month Don Diablo dropped his “Burnin’ Up” remix via Casablanca Records. It was featured this morning on Oliver Heldens latest “Heldeep Radio” episode, and rightfully so.

This “Burnin’ Up” remix is indeed fire. Hats off to Don Diablo for bringing the heat.

House | Chocolate Puma Ft Kris Kiss – Step Back (Low Steppa Remix)

When I saw this new offering from Low Steppa was being released on Island Dance, I didn’t want to give it a fair shot. Island Dance? There’s something strange about a major label getting involved in the dance space. It feels incredibly inauthentic but you can’t blame the dying major label machine for playing catch up. I’ll give them a break since they’re across the pond. Regardless, Low Steppa is a serious talent and I’d be remiss not to feature it. Be sure to pick it up on Beatport below. Serious tune.

Just when I thought DJ Snake was all out of tricks and sold his soul to the major label machine, he comes out with a remix of I Love Makonnen’s cult smash out of left field. Let these DJ Snake vibes wash over you. This remix is a big tune, which we’ve come to expect from the Parasian producer. So many feels.

Progressive House | Sevag – People / Warrior March

Sevag - People : Warrior March

We have two tunes for you before you head out on the town tonight (or not). French DJ, Antoine Clamaran, who is not a household name in the States, but has a very strong fan base in France and is part of French super group, Reepublic, has started his own label and Sevag’s two track EP is one of its first releases. The two tunes have the bouncy, progressive feel that has been heard in his recent tracks, like “Latina“. That kick drum is heavy, so bring the subs on these ones.

Electro-House | Ispolins – Ispolins

Protocol Recordings, Nicky Romero’s record label, just hit us with a huge electro-house track by that crazy Russian duo who go by the name of Ispolins, and the story behind the record is a story in itself! Having submitted this track as a demo, one half of the group personally flew out to Protocol Recordings studio in hopes of personally handing the track to Nicky, and with luck and persistence on his side, they were able to do just that, even being invited on Protocol Radio to share their story, and music. “Isoplins” is a refreshing synth heavy, drop heavy electro-house record, far away from the gimmick records we’ve been fed these past months! This is a must listen and a must download!

Videos | Monstercat 3 Year Anniversary Video From Didrick

Posted by on September 17, 2014

monstercat-3-yearWow, it seemed like yesterday that Monstercat was started by its founder Mike Darlington and now three years in, things are bigger and better than anyone could have imagined. The label is not just a platform for artists to release their music on, but a marketing tool to connect with thousands of eager fans worldwide. To celebrate three years, Monstercat got Swedish producer, Didrick, who you may first remember for his remix of “I Can Be The One”, to mix and mash 78 tunes from the monstercat library into one wild 3-minute piece. The visuals to go along with it are the icing on the cake as you see Didrick working a launchpad and keyboard at the same time, while a drummer, guitarist and full backing band help provide the soundtrack to an outstanding three years of Monstercat. Cheers to you guys and to many more to come. You can grab the mashup and a compilation of Monstercat’s favorite tunes on iTunes here.
