Preview, Progressive House | John Martin – Anywhere For You [preview]

Made famous by Swedish House Mafia, John Martin got notoriety for a reason and that’s because he has an incredible voice. His first solo work since doing the vocals for the two SHM songs and the “Reload” edit is here and it’s a good one. “Anywhere For You”, superbly produced by Michel Zitron, is a crossover progressive house and pop song that is ever so popular these days. This is in no way a unique song but it is done extremely well and that sets it apart from the many similar to it. Martin’s vocals with Zitron’s stand out production is just too good to pass up. Sadly, the release is not until April 7th so we’ll have to wait a bit to get our hands on it. Also, a guy and a girl kiss in the video so if you’re into that sort of thing I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It actually takes place at 3:10 so pause it and enjoy.

The original has to be one of my favorite tracks from 2012 still being played on the festival circuit, and though to some the vocal might have just have just been a violation of the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality, I think it made a great song, even better. Moiez makes sure to keep the builds largely in tact and takes full advantage of John Martin’s vocals, while flipping the script on the drop, adding his own pounding snares and percussion and mixing in the searing synth chords from the original. This may not fit with all tastes, but I am sure it will be a breath of fresh air to all ears who have heard the original mix many, many times. Swedish House Mafia on the heals of the announcement of their impending breakup, also announced their new single “Don’t You Worry Child”, which is said to have made their manager cry. It was rumored to release tomorrow, July 16th, but that was just wishful thinking. It was premiered at their historic show last night at Milton Keyes Bowl in front of 65,000 people as their final UK tour date. With John Martin reportedly on the vocals and Swedish House Mafia delivering an incredibly emotional, uplifting track with masterfully crafted melodies, this may just be the best Swedish House Mafia song we have seen yet.

Here is the much anticipated remix from Dimitri Vangelis and Wyman of Coldplay’s “The Scientist”. They have been teasing this for a few weeks now, but could not hold on to it any longer and decided to give it out today for free as an early Christmas present. We have been following these guys for a while now and they deliver nothing but absolute progressive masterpieces and this one is no different with a catchy whistle and piano build with John Martin’s vocals building into a break of sublime synths and pumping bass. You are going to want to get this one.
