FNT favorite, Jetpack Jones, unleashes his newest single on the interwebs today. My internet was being spotty(shout out to Bright House customer care on Twitter) and I couldn’t listen to the song for about 3 hours. When I finally realized I should download it instead of trying to stream it, I was hit with a sense of euphoria as I listened to the track for the first time. Jetpack often sends me music and claims it’s his best work to date, I’ve grown accustomed to hearing the same sound from him. That is by no means a bad thing, as I enjoy his sound immensely, but this song has changed my view entirely. That Blow does have the same Jetpack feel I’ve come to know, along with the extraterrestrial-type beat he so often paints his pictures over, but it also features the best lyrics I’ve ever heard from the Lakewood rapper. I feel like every week I’m posting a new Jetpack Jones track or video. I checked the archives and that is actually an accurate fact. As long as he keeps making solid music and filming gorgeous videos, you’ll be hearing new Jetpack Jones music consistently for the next year. When you live in a place as stunning as California, it’s fairly easy to create aesthetically pleasing videos. My favorite and your’s, Jetpack Jones, hits us with ANOTHER free mixtape. Jetpack is one of my favorite rappers out right now, because his music puts you in a different mindset than most of the stuff you hear on Worldstar or something. Don’t get me wrong, I like gangster rap as much as the next blogger, but sometimes I need a change of pace. Jetpack Jones is that change of pace. His latest mixtape features terrific bars from the Lakewood native, paired with beats fitting his creative rapping style. The tape is hosted by DJ Charisma, so you know it’s good. An artist that I have been acquainted with for about a year and a half now, Jetpack Jones, drops off his newest video. When I first heard his music, I was immediately entranced by his positive vibe and imaginative style of rapping. He spreads a message of positivity and peacefulness that the rap game is seriously lacking. His latest track, Mi Zona, is no different. The electro fused beat, produced by Crayon Stars, provides the perfect platform for Jetpack to show off his flow. Check out the video above and be on the lookout for Afterburners 3: The Brink.

This post is about two weeks late, and for that I apologize. But I’ve been hella busy, and I’m just having the chance to sit down and take a listen to Jacob Es’ latest mixtape. I’ve been listening to Jacob’s music since I first started blogging about a year and a half ago. I’ve seen steady improvement from Jacob, and that’s one of the main things I look for in upcoming artists.
On his tape, Swimming in the Sublime, Jake picks up solid features from Reeves of Aer and FNT favorite Jetpack Jones. The production is solid throughout, with up-tempo, positive beats without too much synthesizers and other electronic instruments we often hear on the radio. Just looking at the album cover, you’ll get a feel for where this mixtape will take you. Check out the mixtape in it’s entirety below via soundcloud.

FNT favorite and frequenter Jetpack Jones drops off his longest video to date. Being the fact that it’s quite literally a mini-movie, it spans 7 and a half minutes, but they’re an enjoyable 7 and a half minutes. Jetpack and a few of the homies that will be featuring on Afterburners 3 all star in the movie. The music is on point, my favorite track being the old school sample one that happens after the first encounter with LB, who’s clowning on a statue in King park. Jetpack Jones is the only rapper I know who has been consistently releasing good music for the past two years, and if this is any indication of what his next project will be like, then I can’t wait.
