Electro-House | Jacob Plant – Shakedown
Posted by Middy on January 28, 2013
Uk producer Jacob Plant brings his brand of heavy electro & dubstep to Calvin Harris led Fly Eye Records. Departing from the last release on Fly Eye from Thomas Gold “Miao“, “Shakedown” serves as an outstanding jump off track to 2013 for both the label and the artist. With quick progressing builds, gritty drops and well placed electro growls, this phenomenal, high powered track is sure to be a quick burst of energy in any set it is played in.
DJ-Set, Dubstep, Electro-House | The Drop 034 (Jacob Plant Guest Mix)
Posted by Middy on September 28, 2012
The Drop is back with its 34th episode, fresh off of passing 100,000 downloads with a bass heavy selection of tracks with UK producer Jacob Plant on the guest mix. They interview trio Krewella who tell a great story involving Global Dance and Steve Angello. The mix this week features two tracks from Deadmau5’s latest album, the uplifting “Something To Believe In“, Seven Lion’s incredible remix of “The Great Divide” and Nero’s latest free track “Won’t You (Be There)“. Jacob Plant takes over the decks for the last half hour of the show with a ridiculous guest mix, putting together 24 songs in 30 minutes, mixing and mashing songs together, transitioning seamlessly between songs and genres. It is a rare guest mix to hear nowadays when guys have so many guest mix requests and just mail in a half hour mix of 7 or 8 popular songs. You can tell Jacob Plant really put effort into this and by starting with the Torro Torro remix of “Go Deep” he is not taking this lightly. Tracklist after the jump.
Electro-House, Progressive House | Calvin Harris feat. Example – We’ll Be Coming Back (Original + Remixes)
Posted by Middy on July 29, 2012
Example has become one of the premier singers in dance music having just recently completed a sold out arena tour around Europe and his talent is on display with his collab with Calvin Harris “We’ll Be Coming Back”. Calvin Harris’ melody works incredibly well to accentuate Example’s vocals creating a track that has the potential to be the follow up to “Let’s Go” and “Feel So Close”. Calvin Harris may soon be entering the realm to hit maker whether he intended it or not with the way his productions are leading him. R3hab has two remixes on this package, the one above is the more heavily supported of the two with its progressive sound, especially for R3hab as he holds back from excessive use of saws and allows the melodies of the track to carry it to the finish line. The EDC Las Vegas remix uses his saws and has a harder, more electro sound to it. Michael Woods’ remix has a similar sound to R3hab’s EDC NY remix, though it adds a few different elements with some stops and stutters and a some different layered synths. Jacob Plant makes the heaviest of the remixes with very relaxing builds and interludes and then a heavy electro house drop with some moombahton influences in the second drop. Of the remixes in this package the Jacob Plant & R3hab’s EDC NY remixes take the cake for me, but they are all great and on the heals of Zedd’s “Spectrum” remix package coming out in two days, this will be a great week for remixes.

House | Benny Benassi Ft. Gary Go – Control
Posted by Mach on February 28, 2012
First, apologies for all the purchase music we have been posting, these past two days have been insane with the amount of good releases. I had no idea Benny Benassi was even releasing this track today with all its remixes, god I love surprises. Control is an incredible track, Gary Go, the same man responsible for Cinema’s vocals, just perfected another cover. Benny in my mind is a legend, I have heard he doesn’t exactly put on the best live shows, but with tracks like this, I’m still a huge fan. The remixes for this track are awesome themselves, Jacob Plant and Ianizer & Lemethy with the top two remixes. I have started to notice Benny Benassi’s slight attraction to dubstep, if you watch some of his live performances he tends to make a few drops, including his own unreleased dubstep remix of James Blake’s Limit To Your Love. I definitely enjoyed this track and its remixes, worth the listen for sure.
Dubstep | Love Thy Brother & Jacob Plant Remixes

Embarrassing as this is, I love tracks like this. Creating music is an art form already, but when you truly portray emotion in your work, you have a masterpiece. The duo Love Thy Brother are known for their melodic masterpieces. This new remix of their’s should set the bar for all you dubstep producers out there.

Jacob Plant is a great producer that most people don’t know much about. Today on soundcloud he created a set of all the remixes he has created, most of which have not been released yet. Doing most of his work under Mau5trap, Jacob Plant seems to try hard to sound original, which considering how many people produce in the genre now, it is not that easy. It’s about time people get use to hearing his name, hes got big things coming and being only 20 years old hes got a big future ahead of him.
Dubstep | Jacob Plant Official Music Video & Noir

Sev hit me up with his sick video only a few moments ago. It is a remix Jacob Plant has done, not too surprised that he got his own music video for it. The remix officially drops November 7th on Mau5trap.
When I think of up and coming dubstep artists that are going to be force one day, Noir use to not be one of those names to come to mind. After Noir’s past few releases, my thoughts have changed. Dropping another dubstep bomb, Noir delivers some melodic vocal bridges with a dirty drop. Leaving one hell of a great remix.
Dubstep | Modestep – “Sunlight” Remixes (Jacob Plant) and (Torqux & Twist)
Posted by Mach on August 15, 2011
Some of you may remember my post last week that featured the Torqux & Twist remix preview. At the time, I wasn’t aware that the 19 year old dubstep prodigy, Jacob Plant, had also dropped a sick remix to the song. Jacob Plant’s remix is definitely the best of the two. He has just been on fire, truely making a name for himself. In his remix he goes for the more higher pitched synths. With that said, the Torqux & Twist, remix is still BOMB, the intro has a more sunny day feel to it and who doesn’t love that perfectly heavy bassline.
