For the last few months you may have caught some of Dylan’s creative Medleys on FNT and more recently the singles off his debut project SILK. The project comes after two years of curating his sound and working around the clock to better position himself in the industry.
When we checked in with Dylan, the Massachusetts native explained music is all he does; “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t go out and party. I do music.” When he isn’t working on his own music he is engineering for locals out of Massachusetts and helping other’s get to where they want to get in their careers.
SILK is truly a complete project; when listening to the project all the way through each song flows into the next perfectly with the outros playing perfectly in to the intro of the next song. There are some serious stand out tracks on this project such as Flex On U featuring Futuristic, which is more of a hip hop banger, but if you want to slow it down throw it on Little Things or Ironic.

Future Trap | San Holo Debuts on Monstercat with ‘Victory’ EP

Loyal followers of this household name to the future dubstep genre are excited, and they should be, because San Holo has taken a major step in his career by releasing on Monstercat what he is sampling with the title track, ‘Victory’, as an intelligent combination of high strung chords and heavy bass lines. It starts off with a strong grungy intro, transitioning into a trap-inspired bassline, and finally blending with a melodic synth, which is surprising because it maintains a mellow atmosphere throughout the entire track. Do yourself a favour and press play on this bad boy – you will not be disappointed.

Holy… To all the trap DJ’s out there if you’re sleeping on this one give your head a shake. It’s the perfect piece for a transition, an intro, a crowd hype – you name it. Diskord’s remix to Astronaut & Far Too Loud’s ‘War’ is jaw dropping with its digital synths and glass shattering bass making it the perfect addition to the ‘War’ EP. The EP itself has a variety of sounds and it’s posted below but Diskord highlights why I fell in love with the Monstercat label in the first place.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-chop squad. I eventually knew that Chance and Lucki Eck$ would be releasing some music together, seeing as they are two of the biggest faces of Chicago rap at the moment. But once I saw that “Young Chop” on the bottom I knew what was in store already before even listening to it. Whether its the eery chop squad intro that completely captivated me, or the slow beat that Chance’s words just effortlessly flow over, the song provides something fresh and different. Even with enlisting top tier talent on his song, Lucki holds down his part very very well. The whole aura of the song really embodies Lucki and the sound he has been creating with his first two mixtapes. Keep this one on repeat, cause it definitely will be hard not to keep listening to. Be on the lookout for more music from Lucki and Chance soon.

This track right here is cooler than ice and with winter making its dark return, White Cliffs supply a warm breeze transporting us back to summer. “Till Sunrise” has been getting its fair share of remix exposure, but no one has been able to facilitate an atmosphere so nonchalant. Simply put, this song bangs. A simple intro and hook combined with a very very good drop…and boom your party playlist just got 20x better. Is it me or does Icona Pop sound like Abba? Well if it that’s not the case, then Solidisco took it back to the “Dancing Queen” days minus the 2 dudes, and brought it forward to 2014. blending disco-house and electro-house for our dancefloor needs. I’m really digging the production on this one, and for some reason I hear some cool mashups with the intro alone, this is def one you’re going to want to dance to. Icona Pop and Solidisco might want to consider working together, I think they’d make a great collab. Make sure you give this one a listen and support by purchasing it on iTunes!
