Progressive House | Dzeko & Torres vs Crossways – Togi

Posted by on March 18, 2013

Coming off the release of “AMP” & their “Bounced” remix, Dzeko & Torres tab fellow Toronto duo Crossways to create “Togi”, out now on Monstercat Recordings who is coming off of the successful release and still highly charted “Heartbeat” from Vicetone & Collin McLoughlin. Using a vocal sample from Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant song” and a driving, minimal percussive drop, “Togi” sets itself up as a perfect weapon for any one of their WMC gigs. I have no idea what is going on with this video, but it is entertaining nonetheless.

Progressive House | Little Daylight – Overdose (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Posted by on March 13, 2013

Continuing their trend of remixing indie songs, quite possibly the greatest producing duo to ever exist besides Daft Punk and pretty much everyone else, The Chainsmokers have released another classic. For those who are unaware of who these two fine gentlemen are, i’ll briefly describe them. Have you ever thought about taking a bath and then realized what a ridiculous idea that is? Or how about when you’re home alone so you use the washroom with the door open but then your dog comes in and just stares at you. That’s what The Chainsmokers are. They’re the dog that watches you pee and the bath you don’t want to have. “Why is that?” you may ask. Well that’s because they think Leighton Meester is a 6.5 and Megan Fox is a 10.

But enough about their inaccurate scale of objectifying women, they just released a new song. They say it’s by far their favorite remix they’ve done and I can see why. I’m not sure if I like it better than their classic “Around Us” remix, but it’s definitely close. It’s in my top 200 for sure. The Chainsmokers have perfected the formula that they’ve used for their previous remixes. As well as having mastered such a rare thing these days, an intro that I actually enjoy listening to, they have a knack for injecting the energy of house music into songs while keeping much of the feel of the original intact. Sit back, click play, and ponder this wonderful piece of advice I was given by the guys themselves “if you’re anything as witty as you are online, you will likely get laid before you die… 😉

Hip-Hop, House | Funky Friday #2

Posted by on March 1, 2013

Funky FridayHow pathetic is it that it has been about 3 weeks since the first Funky Friday post? Talk about a weekly fail, but I am going to revive this idea in full force. Starting out this Friday is a sick funky mix, just so the mood is set right.

Now that the mood is right, it is time to kick off Funky Friday with some real Disco vibes. SyKo has made a few releases that I will never be able to stop listening to. This free orignal takes the cake, it is too good to be true.

Dubstep | Tristam & Braken – Flight

Posted by on February 15, 2013

Tristam & Braken - FlightThis is one of the best Dubstep tracks out right now. After giving everyone the biggest tease of a clip earlier this week, we can finally dip our ears into the amazing melody of this track. Tristam & Braken turned out to be a dynamic duo with this. In a way I hope that no one remixes this, it is just too good to waste bad remixes on. To be honest, I have no idea who Braken is and I cannot for the life of me find his Facebook. Monstercat doesnt even refer to Braken. Who ever he is, I want to know. Big ups to both Tristam and Braken for this incredible track.

Dubstep | R Rated #53

Posted by on October 31, 2012

Fuck yes (yea I swore, grow a pair). Buygore comes out with an ear-raper every once in a while, today Sev delivers their next. I am familiar with the original but had no idea a VIP existed (VIP=Variation In Production). This track is nuts, it is the definition of R Rated. It releases November 12th on Buygore Records.

Well, today is Halloween, why not kick off R with an epic Halloween freebie. RUN DMT made my ear hurt on this one.

At Dawn We Rage has always been providers, but as their most recent release shows, heavy bass is not out of their reach. This track goes hard but in a way that says, “fuck you, we can do whatever we want.” Ah, music to my ears.

Clart Kent just released his epic collaboration with Oscar Daniels last week of their remix of “Skyfall.” Today he again collaborates on an epic, laser filled remix. “Too Close” has been over played on the radio, but that doesn’t mean artists can’t turn it into something new. Well, here it is, the new, heavy, lasered, “Too Close.”

It is my disappointment to say that I have only posted R/D once, but he hasn’t exactly released much. Honestly I did not expect my next post with him to contain a new original of his. His synth and bass work simultaneously owns face to the ears on this track. I can feel my future grandchildren being raped by bass, and in the Halloween spirit, I approve.

Albums, Hip-Hop | Marc Goone – Young Khlaeesi

Posted by on October 29, 2012

Alright, on some realness here, I have no idea what this is. This music is either for you, or it’s not. It just so happens it’s for me. And I’m the one with the posting power, so here we are. I’ve always thought Goone’s lyrics were cool, witty, etc., but nothing ever stood out to me. But this, this is different. The video is awesome, the video description is awesomer, and Goone is straight goonin on this. Take it for what it is. It’s not “hood” rap. It’s “fun” rap.

Dubstep | True Tiger – Big Love (Haze Remix)

Posted by on October 28, 2012

I have literally been checking the internet for a leak of this track everyday since its preview on UKF. Of course UKF had the idiots who compare every song to Skrillex because they have no actual idea of what Dubstep is. Haze, which is actually another allias of Dubstep filth monger, Funtcase, releases songs that are smooth unlike the Funtcase tracks that are crunchy and heavy. True Tiger produced an incredible original track featuring female vocalist Maiday. The vocals are really what set this original off, but Haze came in and dropped smooth enough bass to make a baby stop crying. It’s melodic strength with the vocals has made this a must have for all time. Grab it off of Beatport HERE.
