There’s no denying that we’re huge fans of Gryffin over here at Fresh New Tracks. The talented multi-instrumentalist not only pushes the boundaries of dance music with his forward-thinking brand of house, but he’s also managed to find a sound that appeals to his dance fans, while still maintaining enough mainstream appeal to crossover into pop. His latest effort, a remix of CHVRCHES’ “Clearest Blue,” is an ode to his impressive production talent, as he takes on the Scottish indietronica band’s biggest hit, and infuses it with his signature melodic house style with soaring guitar riffs, a big bass line, and pulsing synths.

“Obsessed” could not be a more accurate representation of what comes to mind after copious spins of Bordertown’s phenomenal remix of the already enchanting Tom & Collins track, “Obsessed.” This remix is truly a cinematic experience, introducing us to its bouncing bass-lines with nothing short of what sounds like an ensemble of strings. Although still full of energy, this track calls on listeners to become entranced with every beat. Bordertown is setting the bar high with this deep house groove and we can’t wait to see what other tricks are up their sleeves.
Tropical House | Steve Aoki Joins Forces With Felix Jaehn and Adam Lambert on “Can’t Go Home”
Posted by Tay on April 5, 2016
Last month, Steve Aoki revealed that he’s been in the studio with some unexpected collaborators working on a few tracks that would shock the world. The Dim Mak label head got in the studio with the American Idol star, Adam Lambert, and the Dutch youngster, Felix Jaehn, on his latest effort, “Can’t Go Home,” for one of the most unexpected collaborations that we’ve seen in years. While the three artists come from vastly different backgrounds, their work on “Can’t Go Home” together meshes seamlessly, as Aoki steers away from his typical electro house stylings in favor of Jaehn’s uplifting, sun-soaked brand of melodic house. The talented duo of producers lay down soaring flute melodies and smooth percussions to bolster Lambert’s pop croons.

House | Jasper Dietze and Aaron Richards Release Their Cover of The Weeknd’s “In the Night”

Jasper Dietze may only have a few records to his name, but it seems like the up-and-coming star gets better with each and every release. After dazzling the dance music community with his sun-kissed take on Kygo’s “Firestone” last year, the dance newcomer has garnered an impressive following with his accessible, evocative take on deep house that borrows elements from tropical house and pop. For his most recent effort, Dietze enlists Aaron Richards to flip The Weeknd’s “In the Night” on its head, turning it into a slowed-down deep house anthem that truly showcases the Dutch DJ’s talents. Dietze lays down a bed of luscious piano melodies intricately woven with deep synth arrangements and a pulsating bassline.
