Electro | I.O.U. – Around The Fire
Posted by GMONEY on August 28, 2011
I.O.U. has been pumping these jams out lately. This week they’re showing their range by moving away from their usual hip-hop joints and trying their luck with a electro track. All in all, I have to say the result is pretty ill.

Hip-Hop | Braille – Feel It (Music Video)
Posted by Jess on August 28, 2011
In my opinion, an emcee doesn’t get much better than Braille. He’s an artist that I discovered in my days of digging and searching for great underground Hip Hop artists. Many of those artists I discovered at that time, I stopped listening to but Braille is one of those artists I still enjoy to this day. Each album of his is a classic in my opinion and even has an album entirely produced by Symbolic One (producer of Kanye West’s “Power”).
On August 30th, he will be releasing his 7th solo record Native Lungs for free on HumbleBeast.com. “Feel It” is the lead single from the album and features production from Evidence (of Dilated Peoples) and scratches by DJ Revolution. It is a song that any true Hip Hop fan will love. No download yet but be patient as Native Lungs will be released in only three days.
Electro, Hip-Hop | Jay Fresh- Otis (SuperVision Remix)
Posted by GMONEY on August 24, 2011

Jordan Michael Johnson, better known as Jay Fresh, is a hip-hop artist coming out of the indie music scene in Dallas. His compositions are mixtures of eclectic electronic beats with hip-hop overtones and while his style has been described by some as “eclectic modern hip-hop,” his appeal is increasingly defined by a more thoughtful focus on the lyrical.
In the past year, Jay has become a notable fixture among the Dallas live music scene – opening for artists such as: LMFAO, Wale, The Cool Kids, Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Big Krit and Trae The Truth. Jay recently teamed up with producer SuperVision (whose currently in the Pretty Lights camp), to create this original electronic remix of the Jay-Z/Kanye West’s original “Watch The Throne” cut.
I know what you’re thinking, not another “Otis” remix. Believe me, I wouldn’t have featured this if I didn’t think it wasn’t worth your time. Be sure to follow Jay on his journey via Facebook and Twitter, as he continues to make quality music and put the city of Dallas on his back. I have a feeling Jay Fresh may just be the blogosphere’s next big artist.

Hip-Hop | 90s Finest – Off The Wall
Posted by GMONEY on August 24, 2011
There’s no denying that 90’s Finest is one of the hungriest duo’s in the game right now, and their dogged pursuit of their dreams is finally paying off. We first found them murdering electro beats back at the beginning of the year, and since then they have graduated to mastering their own production. Their latest release, Off The Wall, has everything from electro to hip-hop, and even a dash of dirty dubstep for good measure. Its amazing to see just how far these two guys have come musically this year, and I have a sneaky suspicion that this is just the beginning of big things to come for these charismatic Canadians.

Hip-Hop | Tarik – Weatherman (Official Video)
Posted by BIGLIFE on August 22, 2011
I seldom find a hip-hop artist that sticks to rap in its purest form. Tarik, is one of those needles in a haystack; he flows about his personal issues and life, not about a fantasy land. Over the past several months, he’s been in the studio gearing up for a strong fall showing. If I had to guess, his facebook fans will at least quadruple by Christmas time. And you know who is going to be along for the ride? You guessed it, FNT. We are officially affiliating Tarik and will be supplying you with a plethora of visuals and beats to keep our Hip-Hop heads satisfied. The visuals above are to “Weatherman”, which is the first Single of T.R.I.G.S. being released September 26th. Be on the look out for more videos to accompany tracks like “Alone Tonight” in the coming month. Below are just a few of my favorite cuts off his previous projects.

Hip-Hop | Scarub – The California EP
Posted by BIGLIFE on August 21, 2011

I don’t know whether or not I like Scarub. So why even post him? Well because his music is almost undigestible and that intrigues me. He passed the initial “beat with a nice sample” test but his verses seem a little rough on top and I can’t tell if it’s on purpose or not. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he sampled California Dreaming, but I’ll be curious to hear what you all think about him. Sound off in the comments section, is this “real” Hip-Hop or not?
Hip-Hop | IllAdvized – Hustling
Posted by GMONEY on August 19, 2011
IllAdvized really impressed me with their first project Fusion which featured a deft combination of Hip-Hop, House, Electro, Dubstep and just about every other genre they can get their hands on. Their latest release, Hustling, features smart lyricism with an expert flow… oh and the chorus is completely addicting.
