I know last week I posted a remix mixtape someone did of MF DOOM, but I am more excited to be posting up this fresh track from the master lyricist. Collaborating with one of Hip-Hop’s top producers right now, Clams Casino and MF DOOM were meant to work together. Clams did a incredible job on this usual DOOM vibed beat, it really sets up MF DOOM to spit as he does, with the the utmost understandings of the universe. No release date yet, but this track will release sometime this year.

I love classic styled Hip-Hop, the beats were not so over complicated that you never actually wound up listening to what was being said. I feel like a lot of newer syled Hip-Hop is over saturated with instrumentals and bass leaving the art of rap at a loss to the listener. The samples taken from “Deadly Combination” featuring Tupac, Biggie, and Big L were a perfect fit. Diverse did sick work on this production, with a simplistic but fresh beat.

Harry Fraud is starting to become one of my favorite Hip-Hop producers. He provided one of the sexiest jazz flutes on this, why hasn’t this been done before? Jae Millz seriously just runs on this track. He may not be one of the fastest rappers, but this is a real “Barstool Flow.” If you are working on playlist for this Saturday, I highly recommend adding this dime.

Sorry about the absence of Funky Friday last week, but here we go. This is such a great freebie from Marvel Years on Gravitas Recordings. I wasn’t expecting this to be so mellow and include a little Hip-Hop soul. Once the beat takes off you will fall in love with song. The track is part of a free 5 track EP from Marvel Years, “Nowhere But Up,” available below. After listening to the whole EP, I highly recommend it. It’s funk-tastic. Happy downloading.

I wish Louis La Roche was more popular, I love almost everything he has done. I am sick of hearing Ellie Goulding at this point, but this remix is more than enough to be able to bare her. In fact, Louis did an exceptional job with the instrumentals of this remix.
This last artist is someone I literally just came across. Cee-Roo is Funk and Soul. Most of his music is a few months old but that wont stop from sharing a few favorites from him.

Here’s the first single off Slum Village’s forthcoming album ”Evolution” that is set to drop in June. I’ll save you that mundane description of ”Its got a nostalgic 90’s appeal to it” because in reality, whatever this may be is happening now. Hip-Hop at its finest kids.

Another beautiful remix from the incredible pianist, Yinyues. This might in fact be my favorite from him. I love how he used the original style of the track and then blended in a little Hip-Hop for the drops. When it comes to laid back tracks, Yinyues seems to always take the win. If you haven’t familiarized yourself with the rest of his productions, I highly recommend it.

Dubstep | Reso – When It Drop

After we got this little preview last week, it turns out Reso wasn’t playing an April fools prank after all. Reso has been destroying the scene lately with some of the most creative pieces to release. This new emergence of Neuro-hop is very exciting because the genre has no bounds and Reso is definitely paving the way for people wanting to get involved. I would say without hesitation that he is the current king of Neuro-hop. His tracks always have the perfect blend of hip-hop and neuro/glitch that it’s hard not to listen to the tracks on repeat all day. So much inspiration and creativity is coming from this artist that I would recommend you all follow him and be on the lookout for his releases.
