FYI | Why Krewella’s Billboard Op-Ed Missed The Mark

Every blog is talking about it. Earlier today, Jahan of Krewella released an exclusive Op-Ed via Billboard (with an insanely manipulative click-bait title) that addressed the recent lawsuit and breakup of EDM’s crossover supergroup. There real story here isn’t even the personally penned piece. It’s how Jake Udell continues to gain this kind of traction online for his clients, but I digress.

In the beginning of the Op-Ed, Jahan describes Krewella as “the most hated group in the electronic dance music scene” which isn’t far from the truth at the moment. It’s a shame considering their meteoric rise. However, it’s a lesson everyone should understand: perception is reality in the dance space. While the jury is still out on whether the sisters are responsible for pushing Kris out or not (we’re not making any claims either way) they have an image problem and it seems evident Krewella knows this. That’s why they posted this carefully calculated (tone-def) op-ed on Billboard today to quell some of the backlash.

House | WhiteNoize & Nima G – Haters Get Mad

A wise Fat Jewish man once said, “I keep an umbrella with me at all times to shield me from the tears of my haters.” Keeping a hater umbrella handy is something San Francisco based Dj/production duo, WhiteNoize, should probably consider doing because these fellas go to work and where there is someone working hard , there is usually a hater lurking, ready to cry their big salty tears all over the place. This Tech-House tune with deep dance-floor tenancies  goes out to the haters for staying on their job. Haters would be better off popping a molly and giving someone a hug, then they are wasting their bodie’s hydration on hate-tears but then who would fuel the tanks of the achievers in the world? Either way, haters are going to have to figure out a way to stay hydrated cause bottled water isn’t getting any cheaper and you know they stay broke.

Trap | James Blake – Overgrown (Infuze Remix)

James Blake - Overgrown (Infuze Remix)James Blake is a huge hater of Dubstep, I can only imagine what he thinks of Trap. None the less, Infuze is an animal for this remix, it is absolutely gorgeous. I love the progression Infuze used, it is not something you usually experience when listening to Trap. The placement of James Blake’s vocals is flawless on this beat, Infuze you are a trap master.

House | Popeska & Anna Yvette – As The World Falls Down

Posted by on November 29, 2012

While clicking play I thought to myself, “great, another Dubstep track released today.” Not that I’m a hater, but I mean I can only take so much. Thankfully Popeska & Anna Yvette decided to surprise fans by tossing out this incredibly random House original. Anna Yvette has always used her voice to tell an emotional story, even on all the Archie tracks she has done. Popeska on the other hand, well, when was the last time you heard him produce House?

House, Preview | Swedish House Mafia – Don’t You Worry Child (Radio Preview)

Posted by on August 10, 2012

After the success of the Milton Keynes Bowl, delivering the great trio’s final release, we now have a much better preview to tease our ears with. Not to be that guy, but this tracks instrumental is scary similar to “Save The World.” (Waits for target to be painted on the back of head) Being their last release, this track will undoubtedly top all music charts anyways. One thing that stands out more than anything is the lyrics that Swedish House Mafia have laid over from John Martin. If anything, vocalists are the reason that no one really seems to care how similar instrumentals are to previous releases. Look at David Guetta, he has practically made a living off of that production style.

I know I strongly come off as a hater of Swedish House Mafia, but I am just disappointed that Gemini seems to never be releasing his remix of “Miami 2 Ibiza.” My second defense is that this last release I love listening to way more than “Save The World.”  There is no official release date yet, but myself and many will over play previews until that great day.

Hip-Hop, Videos | B.o.B – So Good (Official Video)

Posted by on March 21, 2012

A month ago B.o.B. dropped this great feel good single off his upcoming album, ‘Strange Clouds’ set to release May 1st. To match this catchy track is a sweet video, reflecting that feel good vibe you get. B.o.B. surprises me often, breaking that barrier I have built up against mainstream. I am a notorious mainstream music hater, but I am not lying when I say I love this song. If you are a hater like I am, this video may sway you as it did to me.

Dubstep | T. Mills – Hollywood (R/D Remix)

Posted by on March 3, 2012

R/D proudly has his first official hater, why? Who knows, some people are just stupid. The hater ripped apart this new remix of his, in my opinion this remix is awesome. I love the sounds he used and the drop is sweet. T. Mills vocals really pull it all together for a completely sick remix.
