Bootleg | Dada Life, Hardwell ft. Taio Cruz – Avicii’s Epic Hangover (Kap Slap Bootleg)

Posted by on April 24, 2012

To further the hype of his huge 17 track mixtape entitled Frequent Flyer, Kap Slap, has blessed us with one more single before the mixtape’s official release. The single is entitled, “Avicii’s Epic Hangover,” and is epic to say the least. The transitions between Kick Out the Epic Motherf*cker & Levels are too clean. Look out for Frequent Flyer dropping on 4/30 and like Kap Slap on Facebook here.

Events | Identity Festival 2012 Summer Tour Announcement

Posted by on April 24, 2012

Of ALL of the US festival announcements this summer this may be the best one. Identity Festival last year was a blast hitting 30 cities in close to as many days tearing up the US from coast to coast with some of the best Djs from around the world, most notably Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Avicii, Nero, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, Chuckie, Nervo and more. This year the festival is back on a somewhat smaller circuit of 15 cities, maybe to keep the artsts on the whole way, we will not know until we see each dates lineup, but hitting many of the major cities on both coasts and in the center of the US, though there will be some people left out. However just look at this lineup, Arty, Hardwell, Noisia, Wolfgang Gartner, Paul van Dyk, Madeon, Porter Robinson, and HOLY SH*T ERIC PRYDZ and more. Eric Prydz has been over here as recently as 2007, but he has not been here since the explosion of EDM into the mainstream conscience of the American listeners so I anticipate it will be a totally different experience for him and the viewers particularly with his new triple album coming out of May 21st. Tickets are on sale NOW, so get them while the last for the dirt cheap pirce of $25, and then it is $40, which is still great compared to the outrageously priced festivals all across the US. Ticket link below and tour dates and full lineup after the jump.

Preview, Progressive House, Videos | Tune in Tokyo – Ray of Love (DallasK & Denzal Park Remixes)

Posted by on April 20, 2012

The above video will surely bring back nostalgia for all of you UMF attendees and make any of you who haven’t seen Hardwell live (myself included) feel the need to see him. We posted a radio rip of his remix with Tiesto of The Naked And Famous – Young Blood, and now the official preview is out. Also watch Hardwell’s entire set at UMF after the jump.
Here are two remixes from American DallasK and the Australian duo Denzal Park of Australian pop group Tune in Tokyo’s single Ray of Love. Both remixes make excellent use of the outstanding vocals that mesh perfectly with the progressive melodies provided by the two remixes here. DallasK has gotten his fame for his harder electro house tracks, but he makes a refreshing change here with a smooth progressive build that eases into melodic break with a simple bass line, well timed stops and an uplifting synth melody. Denzal Park gives a track that has more of a big room feel. The build has a bit of a different feel, creating intense anticipation of a huge euphoric, hands in the air drop that will make this track a sleeper festival pick early this summer.

House, Progressive House | The Naked & Famous – Young Blood (Tiesto & Hardwell Remix) [Preview]

Posted by on March 30, 2012

Another sneak peek from Tiesto’s upcoming album entitled “Club Life Vol. 2: Miami”. This one is a collaboration between him and his protege Hardwell, and I must say I am two thumbs up on it. Though the track may not have that signature trance or dutch sound that personifies these two artists, it shows how much range EDM producers are beginning to possess these days, which is important because the diversification of sound is becoming a lifeline to artists in a genre where new producers are popping up every day. “Chasing Summers” showed us a bit of Tiesto’s dark side, while this Young Blood Remix displays a more progressive and light sound from the master of trance. My mouse is clicking repeat all day…

DJ-Set, Progressive House | NO_ID & Martin Volt – Zelda (Incl. Hardwell Edit)

Posted by on March 26, 2012

As we wait for Hardwell & Dannic – Kontiki, Revealed Records has released these two tracks from NO_ID & Martin Volt with an edit from Hardwell to hold us over until then. The original is the more progressive of the two with a strong distorted bass line with a rising synth melody over the moving bass line in the break. Harwell’s edit is actually an edit, unlike the trend of tracks recently where the big name artist does very little and adds his name to it. He takes the song and strips it down to make it much more of a festival track, putting much greater emphasis on the bass line. He keeps the rising synth melody for part of the break but then drops it for his own signiature big room sound that takes this track to a whole new level.

Also included after the jump is Adrien Meszi’s spring mix that includes the above mentioned Hardwell edit of “Zelda” and his remix of “Video Games”, among other progressive gems from the last few months.
