Electronic, Progressive House | Porter Robinson – Sad Machine
Posted by Mel on May 13, 2014
“Sad Machine”, Porter Robinson’s follow up to “Sea Of Voices” is even grander than his previous release and maybe even the Skrillex remix of “Levels”. The song is absolute gold and will provide you with yet another reason as to why you should be excited for his upcoming album. Pre-order his album “Worlds”, set for release August 12th here.

House | A’s Essential Weekend Tunes
Posted by BIGLIFE on February 7, 2014

It’s the weekend. You know what time it is. It’s time to spend entirely too much at the bar. It’s time to go home with that girl you met on Tinder that you’ll be ashamed of the next day. It’s time to hate yourself on Sunday after you look at your bank statement. We know the feeling, that’s why we’re here to enable that kind of behavior. We asked preeminent long-retired blog king “A” to gift us with a weekend playlist. Man, did he come through just in time for you to lose your dignity. His weekend selections are nothing short of fire flames. Bring your sunscreen, they’ll melt your face right off. It’s gold Jerry, gold!

Events | Event Review: UZ, K Theory, & Vital Riots, 09/NOV/2013
Posted by Nick on November 10, 2013

People have always told me about how mysterious UZ is; how enigmatic the act is that he puts on – and after his performance last night in San Luis Obispo, I’m here to tell you how cool it actually is.
Following two killer sets from Vital Riots and K Theory, the mystery man put on an insane, trap-filled set that lit up the entire venue, keeping the crowd moving track, after track, after track. Throwing down pieces from his “Trap Sh*t” series, all the way to DJ Snake’s “Bird Machine,” UZ had it going on from start to finish. Even with this girl trying (way too hard) to dance in front of him during his set, the new age trap star remained unfazed.

Speaking of “that girl” (who ended up getting kicked off stage about three times), she even tried to grind on/make out with Malcolm of K Theory during their set. Thankfully, he had the sense to say no, and continue with one of the most versatile EDM acts I’ve seen a while (which is especially impressive considering they were missing their third member, Dylan, who fell seriously ill shortly before the show). Regardless of any strange women trying to take the stage that night, the Black & Gold Party at The Graduate was definitely a great experience, and a show you should feel sad about missing if you weren’t there – sucks to suck. S/O to Collective Effort Events for putting together a great lineup.
