Dubstep, Electro, House, Review | Feed Me – Feed Me’s Escape From Electric Mountain EP

Posted by on February 7, 2012

Feed Me dropped this killer EP yesterday, and I have literally had the entire thing on repeat since. Feed Me AKA Spor has had an insane career so far. As Spor, Feed Me was one of the most legendary artists in drum & bass and is still considered so. He created Feed Me, the green critter above as a new persona with the goal of creating crazy sounding dance tunes out of electo, house, and dubstep beats mainly. Though he still does some work in drum & bass as Spor, Feed Me seems to understand that his new persona is now his main one, and will surely continue to drop insane works such as this one.

As I said before Feed Me’s goal has been to create great dance tracks, and that greatly reflects on this EP, even on the dubstep tracks. Trapdoor which was the first track off this EP that we were teased with, has a sick vocal and dubstep blend. Relocation is the first time I have really ever heard Feed Me create a very strong uplifting house track, shows that the man does not wish to settle on one style of music. One Click Headshot is a laugh for anyone who has seen the youtube video that is sampled on the track, and once it drops….BOOM HEADSHOT! I get the feeling that on Embers, Feed Me had some guidance from Deadmau5 with the use of the chords, the track itself is built perfectly, too bad we never got a preview of it before the release. Trichitillomania (mouthful of a name) I have a feeling was meant for the sole purpose of being remixed, considering how basic sounding of an instrumental track it is until the drop at 4:30. Last is the greatly anticipated dubstep collaboration between Feed Me & Gemini, Whiskers. Gemini’s style is very smooth, melodic, and almost trance like, but that blended with the raunchy styling of Feed Me leaves us with one dope finale to the EP. Happy listenings.

Dubstep | R Rated #11

Posted by on January 11, 2012

With the start of a new year, Mach and I were talking about what tracks we would like to see released in 2012 that were not released last year. The funny thing was, we both named the same track as our most wanted unreleased track. Gemini’s style is second to none and it can be seen through this track and his other releases.  Seems as though the only way this track might get released is if we bug Gemini enough to where he gets tired of hearing about it. So everyone who wants this track knows what to do; get on twitter and get to work haha. Now time for some nasty tunes.

All I could think to myself at the start of this song was that I couldn’t stand Cascada’s voice in this track. After the drop all I could think to myself was how I love Cascada’s voice in this track. Barron bringing the filth with this drop and it is a 100 times better than his voltage remake.

Justin Perea goes all out on this remix of We Are Massive. The drop reminds me of Alvin Risk’s style which probably explains why I can’t stop listening to it.

Mach and I both agreed that we liked this drop better than the original drop. Kabuki Zombie takes another route to creating the drop than Doctor P did and it makes the track sound heavier.

It has been a while since we got a release from J.Rabbit. Terravita released a little two track EP and this monster was on there.

Candyland is another new comer to the dubstep genre and lately he has been putting out some sick tracks. This one in particular caught my attention starting off with a nice melody into a sudden, but monstrous drop.

Dubstep | Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party Preview, Gemini Preview, & Mau5trap Freebee

Posted by on September 18, 2011

Middy posted the Swedish House Mafia Essentials mix just a few days ago, but Knife Party just uploaded this to their youtube page. For those of you that don’t know, Knife Party is the side project of the duo from Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. It is a little funny how much more popular Knife Party is becoming over Pendulum. There is no set release date of this epic collaboration, but it always a good thing once artists post up studio quality somewhere.

Yet again with Swedish House Mafia’s name present, is an upcoming remix from Gemini, cut straight from his Kmag Mix. It feels right to compare Gemini to the greats, such as Bassnectar and Skrillex, all Gemini needs is a larger fan bass. This track is also not announced yet for release, the track at the end of the preview is “Cloudburn” by Feed Me. Check out Gemini on Facebook. His new EP, “Graduation,” drops tomorrow.

It didn’t feel right not including a full track in a post. This is a sick new freebee from Mau5trap Records. Eyes is a 20 year old producer for Mau5trap, more famous for his bootleg remixes of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights.”

DO SOMETHING

Dubstep | xKore Ft. Zoe & Naomi – Need You (Centra Remix)

Posted by on September 4, 2011

This remix is incredible, reminds me of Gemini’s style of dubstep. It is almost hard electro, but you know that in reality this is just some epic dubstep. Centra did a sick job on this remix. If you don’t have this, your dubstep library is not complete.

Dubstep | Ed Sheeran – You Need Me, I Dont Need You (Gemini Remix)

I’m not going to say I’ve turned over to the darkside of Dubstep, but I’m also not going to say I haven’t. Per my usual BIGLIFE taste, these tracks sport plenty of vocals that are eventually crushed by MASSIVE addicting whomps that I can’t keep away from my ears. I’ve been hooked on Millions Like Us ever since the track “A&E”, but I have to say Gemini takes the cake here; the balance between vocals and drops is a little more refined.
