Alternative, Pop | Martin Weston Releases “Loose Knit Heart”
Posted by VMan on August 22, 2021
Martin Weston isn’t your everyday singer-songwriter. The up-and-coming London based musician possesses a potent motion in his storytelling with folk music running through his veins from a young age. His latest offering “Loose Knit Heart” has elements of acousitc, folk, and pop blended together which reminded me a lot of early 2000’s music in this space like Jack Johnson or Ben Harper. This track few on me a ton and well worth it. Martin explains the meaning behind “Loose Knit Heart’’ below. Stream the song above now.
“I wrote Loose Knit Heart after fully realising how brilliant a thing the perfectly crafted pop song is. Loose Knit Heart is my attempt at something along those lines, trying to add catchy hooks and melodies everywhere I could.
It’s an acoustic singer-songwriter, collaborating with an experimental electronic music producer called Tom Arniel. I came along with an acoustic pop song and he added a really textural groove by recording pots and pans in his kitchen. Making it was so fun.”

Teaming up with Sada Baby and BabyTron for one of his bigger releases to date, emerging rapper TY in the Building returns with an electrifying new release via “Vice Avenue”. The rising Detroit based artist iss on the come up but clearly has something going here. Check out a quote from him on the release below and check out the new collaboration and video above now!
When I first heard the beat, it reminded me of something that would be in grand theft auto Vice city and I loved it. When we were thinking of a name I wasn’t sure what to call it. We thought about “ Jump” or “screenshot” but that seemed too basic. When i made the artwork I wanted it to be GTA inspired because The beat inspired me of the game, and in the game there’s a bunch of strips with clubs on there. So we came up with “Vice Avenue” referencing the game GTA Vice City”
Alternative, Pop | Gillian Heidi Releases Powerful Single, “Waves”
Posted by VMan on May 2, 2021
Rising Boston-based Pop singer/songwriter Gillian is back with her third single of 2021 via “waves”. The emotional ballad once again shows off her songwriting and melody creating skillset, proving she is a Pop artist to keep an eye on this year. For fans of Taylor Swift, Alessia Cara, and Olivia Rodrigo. Check out a quote from her on the release below and stream “Waves” above now!
“I wrote waves at the end of eighth grade, when I started to realize that everything was changing. I had recently switched schools, and I was about to start high school. I had this overwhelming feeling of realizing that I wasn’t a kid anymore. Instead, my life was now plagued with worry about tests and relationships and things that, in the long run, don’t really matter. Waves was a moment of realization for me- I was growing up. My life was no longer focused on fun and fairytales, and I was nostalgic for a simpler, easier time. Waves captures a feeling of nostalgia and pain, wishing you would’ve cherished simplistic times when they existed and wondering how you ended up where you are.” – Gillian Heidi

Toronto-based singer, songwriter and producer YASSiN is back with a warm tune via his uplifting new offering “Take My Time”. Collaborating with Sean Terrio for the release, ‘Take My Time’ sees the artist deliver a wonderfully fresh and vibrant new release. Channeling a rich and diverse aesthetic, which sees him borrow from the worlds of indie-pop, soul, and classic disco, his newest delight will firmly fix a smile to your face from start to finish. Listen and watch the visual above now and read a quote from YASSiN on the release below now.
“Take My Time was written in the early months of quarantine, on a dark rainy day. I wrote this song as an escape from the circumstances of the world. It is a love song that embodies the pure joy of being with someone you love. It has a hint of silliness to it. It is a dreamers song about forgetting the complications of the world and feeling free with your partner. I say at the beginning of the track “Maybe stand a little closer” Which is something I hope people do when they dance to this one. It’s also me dreaming of the day where we don’t have to be 6 feet apart from each other. This song to me is about true love that you’d spend a life waiting for, hope that gets you up and has you moving forward even in bleak days, and pure ridiculous fun.” – YASSiN
