Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Adrian Lux Interview [FNT Exclusive]
Posted by Middy on July 30, 2013
Prinz Adrian Johannes Hynne aka Adrian Lux has had a long, winding road to where he is now, rising to his well-respected status in dance music. First getting into music around the age of 16, he started as a hip hop DJ before moving into the more underground realms of dance music that were popular at the time in his native Stockholm. He eventually found his sound, becoming heavily influenced by indie pop and a wide range electronic artists in Sweden from Andrew Beyer, to Axwell, to Eric Prydz.
We had the chance to talk about his tour and his show last Saturday, his early DJ life, moving to America and what he is in store for the future. Having just released his debut album last spring, and another on the way soon, it will be very exciting to see everything he has in store for us.
House | Kaskade – Atmosphere (AMTRAC Remix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on July 29, 2013
I had a predisposition to this song before I gave it a listen, just because I saw AMTRAC on it. Let alone the fact that I’m a big Kaskade fan and really enjoy the original track. As an artist, AMTRAC has an infectiously funky feel. His tracks ooze a deep yet fun, and usually soulful vibe. He always provides interesting work on the vocals of his tracks which help keep his songs incredibly interesting. He brought all of those signature elements to this remix coming right out of the gates with Kaskade’s airy vocals, almost isolated, and then gently lifting you up to a level where he can hit you with the beat. From there, the song is an ever changing adventure; each phrase different from, and yet complimenting the phrase previous to it. This remix really showcases AMTRAC’s sound and skill, and if you like it then definitely check out everything he has touched, it’s all equally awesome. This track was released as half of a remix package out now on Beatport.

Hip-Hop | HAHA-YO – Dancing Like An Idiot [Video]
Posted by admin on July 19, 2013
HAHA-YO has returned funkier than ever and on a mission to protect the secret sauce.
Whatever the secret sauce may be, HAHA-YO most definitely put plenty of it on this last song and video. In an industry filled with monotonous, unoriginal artists I can say without hesitation that there is no one quite like HAHA-YO. The duo can make the most introverted, shy listener get up on his or her feet and dance with the play of a song.
“Dancing Like an Idiot” is without a doubt on the lighter side of hip-hop and has a sound sure to attract many kitchen-dancers, shower-singers, and motor vehicle-rockstars alike.
Directed by Mikey Van Beuren, the video is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. A mini-movie to go along with the soundtrack, the visual follows Boyder and Lukey the Bird on their journey to save their pizza dynasty and each other. There are -thankfully- no shots rapping in to a camera from a rooftop or in a studio, instead the team has given you something to sit down, enjoy and actually get intrigued by.
HAHA-YO has recently released their EP, HEY., and if you missed it, it can be downloaded here for free!
Chill, Cover, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – No Rain (Blind Melon cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 4, 2013
FNT’s own Connor Zwetsch offers up her newest cover to mellow us all out on this hyped up, crazy, alcohol filled day. Her latest, a cover of Blind Melon’s “No Rain,” is upbeat and catchy, and Connor’s voice puts an interesting and fun twist on the song, and really shows off her tremendously powerful and gorgeous vocal chords. Fun fact for everybody, this is the song Connor sang on The Voice, and NONE of the judges turned around. I would’ve turned around. Happy 4th to all, be safe.
Chill, Indie | SPIRITANIMAL – Forever Ago (Prod. by DREAMGHOST)

Tucked deeply away in the depths of my bedside drawer is a box of tissues. I don’t keep them out in the open because, quite frankly, it’s embarrassing. Nobody wants to know what I do when things didn’t go as planned and I’m all alone in my bed at night. Well, the sun hasn’t even set yet but the box is out of the drawer. You see, I like to make paper mache hats out of slightly damp tissues. How it becomes damp is none of my concern. One cannot simply construct these hats with pants on or without music and house is far to frantic for the delicacy and concentration required so it cannot do. It is for that reason I turn to the soothing sounds of chillwave. Chillwave, in a sense, is the shirtless Adam Levine of the music world. Not many search for it, but once in a while you’ll come across a pic and, not bad. A collaboration between SPIRITANIMAL and DREAMGHOST, whose names are in all caps for some reason, was my shirtless pick for the day (I picked it while shirtless). Whether you are driving around the city or just having fun with damp tissues, this song will fit the occasion.
House, Techno | Boys Noize – Go Hard EP
Posted by Spice on June 25, 2013
Is there anyone out there quite like Boys Noize? With his latest EP, the aptly titled Go Hard, the talented Mr. Ridha once again proves that he’s pretty much in a league of his own. His high octane brand of acid house is present in each of the five new tracks debuted yesterday (with the possible exception of “Starwin,” which is replete with acidy squelches but ultimately a buoyant disco confection), but the more remarkable feat is the level of versatility he displays. The EP veers from ominous and consummately analogue (“Inhale/Exhale”) to techno meets trap with notes of hardstyle (the titular “Go Hard”) to the aforementioned “Starwin,” which sounds like something Madeon might make after watching the full Discovery video and then sucking down a bunch of nitrous. “Excuse Me” (escoooooz me) and “Push Em Up” are both hard-nosed dance floor jams that are impossible not to move to. Go Hard is well worth the cost of an iTunes download — in the grand Boys Noize tradition, it manages to be dark, fun, energetic and fresh all at once.
