As one of the first blogs ever to post Timeflies, we have had the gratifying opportunity to watch and aid in their growth. Over the past year, this duo comprised of producer Rob Resnick and Singer/Rapper Cal, have worked tirelessly in the pursuit of their passion. Their highly anticipated EP titled The Scotch Tape represents the culmination of months and months of hard work, and after your first listen I am convinced you will see why we are so excited about this project. So without further adieu, FNT is proud to introduce, The Scotch Tape.
After releasing The Scotch Tape Timeflies will be touring the country playing shows at colleges and venues from coast to coast. Timeflies will be celebrating the release of The Scotch Tape with a sold out concert at Arlene’s Grocery (FNT’s very own DJ JurisDoc Will be opening) in NYC followed by an after party at Gallery Bar tomorrow night.

Events, Hip-Hop | Mike Stud in NJ, Gate City Squad ft. Mike Stud

Come out this Saturday for an FNT sponsored Mike Stud show in Randolph, NJ. Also at the event will be another FNT favorite, DJ Nammo. Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Bei Maejor – MaejorMaejor

Grammy nominated all-star writer, producer and rapper Bei Maejor just released his latest free project, MaejorMaejor, hosted by DJ Ill Will & DJ Rockstar. I haven’t had the chance to listen to this all of the way through, but judging from his impeccable track record, I am sure that this is a mixtape you wont want to miss. The tape features a cut from Sam Adams, who we haven’t heard from in a minute…although a little birdie told me he is dropping an epic electo-hop heater right here on FNT later tonight.

Events | Aspen – Where the beer flows like wine

FNT covered Jazz Aspen Snowmass this Labor Day Weekend 2011 in Snowmass Village, CO, cautious of record high cougar percentages. Friday night’s electronic lineup consisted of Something Underground, Sorry for Partying, Paper Diamond, Thievery Corporation, and Girl Talk. The highlights of the night were undoubtedly Paper Diamond and Girl Talk. Paper Diamond threw down an energizing set of fresh beats with a vibe similar to Pretty Lights. Girl Talk followed with a demonstration of true mashup genius fueling a two-hour mountain party. The following night’s lineup included Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Steely Dan. The Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela jammed rhythmic and fast acoustic guitars, keeping the crowd thoroughly entertained. Older couples were pleased with Steely Dan’s jazz-influenced style of music.

Boston based rapper, Jacob Es, released his EP Stoned Poets Society, back in March(based on the title, I’m sure you can guess the exact date) to much acclaim here at FNT. He recently dropped some visuals to one of the favorite tracks off the EP Pumped Up Kicks.

Electro, Mashups | Axel Bauer & Lanford – One More Disposition While Doing Crime

This song is phenomenal – perfect for the avid FNT listener whose looking to balance out his or her bass-heavy iTunes library (yes I’m aware we’ve been hitting you with a lot of dubstep and hard electro as of late). The aptly titled song features various bits and pieces from some of your favorite tracks including Daft Punk’s “One More Time”, Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” remix, and Adrian Lux’s “Teenage Crime”. Incredibly, the duo seamlessly blends the tracks under a perfect balance between the beat and vocals.Don’t pass this one up and keep an eye on these two, they’ll be climbing the ranks in no time.
