Dubstep | Illenium & Said The Sky – Falling In (ft. Mimi Page)

I knew before I clicked play that this would be a good track considering all the names that worked on it. I was not disappointed. This is Said the Sky’s second FNT post, and it is absolutely deserving. Said the Sky teamed up with his buddy Illenium and created this dubstep masterpiece with vocals from Mimi Page. The track starts out with some light electronic piano and vocals, and builds gracefully into melodic growls and synths. A few sections push into the drumstep area as well. Exclusive, Progressive House | FNT Premiere: Rob & Jack – Shadows (Karboncopy Remix)

ROB & JACK – SHADOWS (KARBONCOPY REMIX)

Karboncopy, connoisseurs of erotic styled literature and progressive house music are debuting their forthcoming remix of Rob & Jack’s “Shadows” right here on FNT. The track shares some similarities with their previous remix for Laidback Luke and Project 46’s “Collide”, as well as the hit summertime smash of autumn 2011, “Without You” by David Guetta, in the sense that they are all pretty good. A strong piano leads the song out of the break and into the build, where the rolling melody takes over and then climaxes, powerfully, at the drop. Karboncopy are tremendously skilled and in time are sure to be among the top progressive house artists coming out of Australia. The remix is out a week from today, July 21st. Folks welcome a new comer to FNT as a solo artist, French producer, Aazar with his latest release “Jigglin,” a hard hitting bass track for the twerkers.  If you’re wondering which other tracks Aazar has produced , he is part of the Parisian super group Point Point, so if you know “Morning BJ,” and “Life In Grey” then you know his sound. I’m also more than certain this track is already receiving massive support from the likes of DJ Snake and co! Ladies, get that ass jigglin’ and wigglin’! This is a must listen and a must download!

Remix competitions are wonderful things because they allow us the opportunity to hear tens of remixes of the same song – something people definitely want. Another upside to them is that the winning remixes are often as good or better than the original. I think it would be fair to classify this remix as one of those. Sava & Razz are becoming regulars here on FNT and it’s because they consistently put out great tracks. They have crafted one of the better remixes for Martin Garrix, Sander van Doorn and DVBBS’ “Gold Skies” and they are giving it away for free.

When Usher and Young Jeezy joined forces in early 2008 to make the hit hip-hop classic, “Love In This Club”, the world was blown away. The melodic components of that song were what really had us hooked, similar to how the well known Steerner and the lesser known Martell hook us with their music. Martell is not as household a name as his fellow Swedish collaborator Steerner is, but if you have been following us for a little while and needed any more proof as to why FNT is one of the top 200ish music blogs in the U.S. and parts of southern Canada, we had been covering Martell for some time now, so you should be familiar. Big melodies and powerful drops are what these guys are known for and that is what this song consists of.

The common theme in the music of Steve James is melody. It is always at the forefront and is the most memorable part of his tracks. This is demonstrated once again in his most recent release, a remix of SomeKindaWonderful’s “Reverse”. As the vocals end approaching the build, that’s when the excellent melody takes over and carries the song the rest of the way. For a variety of reasons, although most notably because in the tenth grade I was punched in the stomach by a girl, Steve James has not yet appeared on FNT. For those of you who were unaware of him and enjoy the track, be sure to check out his Soundcloud. There’s some great stuff on it.

FNT was first to put you on to ACADEMY, and their latest single “This View” off their EP Moving Methods is one you’re not going to want to miss! The guys had sent me this track a few days back, and I’ve been so deep into deep house music, I wasn’t ready for it, but this Thursday morning seemed like the right time to press play, and the quality of the sound is what brought me in. Their ditty like, laid back production, produced by Sean Kongery, overlayed with their trademark reggae/ska vocals makes for the perfect rainy day Summer jam. This is a must listen and a must download!
