The conferences of all dance music conferences, Amsterdam Dance Event is just a few weeks in site, and here at FreshNewTracks we couldn’t be anymore excited to once again take part in this gathering of the dance industry for the third year in a row. With the whole city providing the venues for all your favorite dance acts, we figured we’d put together a small little itinerary of where you’ll be able to find us, and what parties you NEED to be at, from opening day Wednesday October 14, all the way to the weekend! Albums | Axwell /\ Ingrosso Takeover NYC

The streets of New York are singing. Axwell /\ Ingrosso have debuted the sounds of a new song and have hit the streets of Manhattan to partake in the world’s first silent song premiere. The duo, set to co-headline Governor’s Ball this Sunday alongside Outkast, Vamipre Weekend and The Strokes, have cloaked the city in lyric lines from a forthcoming single, a mix & match scavenger hunt for all to take part in. On discovery fans have been posting the lyrics via Twitter and Instagram to reveal a lyric map for all to follow online.
As for the rest of the world, we await the postman. 5,000 fortunate fans will receive a first look into the dawn of Axwell /\ Ingrosso. Personalized letters, sheet music, and scratch-off lottery cards with the chance to win a fly-away trip are on route to the homes of fans in more than 30 countries worldwide. A select very few will receive limited edition poster prints and t-shirts.

OH LORDE! If you listen to the radio, chances are you hate the original version of this song by now. If you’re one of the smart ones who uses Spotify or Pandora, you might just still enjoy this one. Either way, Dotcom is here to make your countdown to the weekend fly by just a bit quicker with this heavy hitting remix of Lordes “Royals.” Dotcom has burst onto the dubstep scene with his melodic remixes and weekly releases known as “Dotcom Dubdays.” The kid is a future star, so don’t sleep on this one.

Despite having high maintenance blonde hair, I’ve actually always preferred going to barbershops over luxury hair salons. I consider the experience to an artistic and cultural retreat. It’s like a showcase for local or up-and-coming artists, from the street art on the walls to the records on deck, and the custom creations being buzzed into the side of people’s heads. I used to have this barber, a 7 ft. tall thug with dreads all the way down his back, who would give me a Street Cred 101 about how to walk the walk, talk the talk, and the importance of staying away from boys (or else he would hold the sheers up to my neck and threaten to tell my dad). Needless to say, I’d bust out of that place feeling rejuvenated on the inside and fly as hell on the outside. Barbershops were just the place to be even if you weren’t getting your hair did. We’ve all seen the movie, you know what I’m talking about.
Duck Sauce duo A-Trak and Armand van Helden know what I’m talking about too in the video for their latest track, It’s You. Known for producing jams with a retro twist, Duck Sauce really plays up the barbershop quartet in this one, a theme I don’t think we’ve seen yet in electronic music. The release of It’s You is just one step closer to an actual Duck Sauce album, an album A-Trak calls a “comedy album.” And it wouldn’t be a Duck Sauce video if you weren’t feeling a little confused or disturbed by the end of it. By the second or third play though, you’ll be scheduling your next buzz cut and searching for disco balls on the eBay, I can tell you that much. While I could never be as cool or awesome as A-Trak or AVH, I think I could impress my friends with this song. Impress yours, too.

Electro-House | Bass Kleph & Jimi Frew – Gum

Lazy Rich‘s Big Fish Recordings may fly under the radar at times with its releases, but it is consistently putting out well-produced, quality tracks. The same can be said to an extent for the chronically underrated label head himself. LA producer / DJ Bass Kleph has developed a reputation for his outstanding live performances where he does live edits of songs on the fly and he is growing an impressive discopgrahy to go along with that live DJ skill. He teams up with Sydney based producer Jimi Frew, a name to watch in the coming years, to bring us the powerful “Gum”.
“Gum” espouses both melodic and hard hitting electro elements with a driving, chunky low end, carefully orchestrated key play and big synth chords that make this suitable for a wide variety of tastes and a wide range of DJ sets. This is the type of record that could get a crowd going just as much as any top 40 Beatport record, but it would require a DJ to dig into the crates a little to find it — something many DJs this festival season are doing less and less.

I’ve finally washed ashore from the sensational tidal wave that was Kaskade’s It’s You, It’s Me Redux Tour. Everything you heard about drowning in sweat, auditory immersion and house deeper than the Mariana Trench was no exaggeration in reference to what I experienced that Tuesday night at his kick off show in Dallas. I’ll do my best to recreate the atmosphere (hehe) from that show but when it comes down to it, you just have to close your eyes in dive into the music yourself. Conveniently, I’ve provided the San Diego set in it’s entirety for your listening pleasure so all you need to do is press play and come with me on my journey to the most intimate underground electronic show you’ve only seen in your wildest dreams.
