It’s finals time over here in the land of the Swedes but I’m taking a little coffee break to share some music that’s been helping me knock out all my work. Oregon based producer Electric Mantis brings us this delightful electro-trap track appropriately titled “Flips And Flops, Drips And Drops,” perfect for those currently listening to artists along the likes of Flume and L D R U. In fact, I have to credit one of the hottest music blogs on the internet right now for bringing this track into my life – that being Djemba Djemba’s Soundcloud Stream. Flume & Chet Faker’s EP is just around the corner, and in advance of the November 26th release date the collab has decided to give us another enticing taste of what’s to come. Languorous vocals and a hypnotic bassline make this one a totally intoxicating wind-down-at-the-end-of-the-night kind of listen. And for what it’s worth, Flume just took to Facebook to declare that “What About Us” is the single track he’s most excited for.
So there you have it. The 26th can’t come soon enough.

You may know Chet Faker from their most notable singles “I’m Into You” and “No Diggity” and Flume from his crazy productions known all over the internet, but together they make an amazing music team. “Drop the Game” is their lead track off their upcoming collaborative EP ‘Lockjaw’, and it makes the wait all more worth it. Dropping some intense, high quality visuals for the track was definitely the way to go, making the November 26th EP release hyped up as ever. The stream is up on Future Classic, Flume’s record label, and will be available on iTunes starting Nov. 26 along with the rest of the EP.

Australian producer L D R U has dropped yet another stunning track – shocker! His tropical remix of fellow Aussies, YesYou’s “So Much To Give” teleports you to a coastal paradise down undah while maintaing the high energy and passion of the original.
And now it’s time for a round of Did You Know?! In an interview with Salicious Sound, L D R U revealed that his producing career began while recovering from a back injury during his time as an apprentice carpenter. Well folks, it’s been real. Tomorrow, Sept 22, marks the official end of summer 2013. In honor of the change in season, I present to you the second installment of my very own Warm Air mixtapes. A mix designed to ease the transition of swimsuits to sweaters and piña coladas to pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha lattes. A mix to warm you up in the cool autumn breeze, to relive the sweet memories of the past few months, and keep your spirits up and motivated as you face challenges in school, work, and everyday life. So close your eyes, and let this mix take you back to that moment on the beach where you dug a hole in the sand with your toes as you watched the sun set, or when you indulged in the most amazing 4th of July BBQ of your life, or drove around recklessly with the top down and the radio up, or the night you watched an epic fireworks spectacle with your boo thang wrapped up tight in your arms.
Remember, just because the summer is over doesn’t mean the fun is. Oh no, 2013 can and will go out with a bang. With 3 months left to go, it’s time the real fun begins.

When it comes to summertime playlists, it’s a cutthroat battle for the ultimate, all-inclusive and trendiest compilation, so hear me out for a second. Allow me to introduce to you, Warm Air, a three-part series by yours truly that will coincide with the rise and fall of your sweet summer season. I present to you this first installment of my series on the first day of summer, appropriately, in hopes that you might enhance any which way you decide to spend your greatest allowance of sunlight with the shimmering sounds of some of my current favorite artists. This playlist in particular is for the moment you wake up when the possibilities for your day are limitless; the sun is sparkling everywhere from the leaves on the tree to the water in the pool and the hood of your new Bugatti.
