Progressive House, Trance | Above & Beyond – Black Room Boy (Above & Beyond Club Mix)
Posted by Spice on February 25, 2013
After weeks of hype and airtime, Above & Beyond’s club mix for “Black Room Boy” has finally dropped on Anjunabeats. In all honesty, this isn’t my favorite thing the trio has put out by any stretch — while I do like the way they’ve refashioned the chord progression in the chorus, I think the overall sound is a little generic. Of course, it’s not objectively bad by any means; it successfully takes the dark, Pet Shop Boys-ish vibe of the original and gives it a harder edged spin, and that’s generally the aim of their club mixes. It’s also guaranteed to appeal to a broader audience (think a large festival event). But at the end of the day this will always be a third or fourth tier A&B track to me — that’s just what happens when you’ve set the bar as high as Tony, Jono and Paavo have. Don’t just take my word for it, however; give it a listen and let us know what you think.

Electro | MVTH – Wide Body
Posted by Jess on February 25, 2013
MVTH is back with their perfect blend of trap, electro, and hard house/rave stylings in the form of their new single “Wide Body” released via Burn The Fire records. “Wide Body” is one of my favorite tracks from the LA duo to date, so make sure to cop it. You won’t be able to help yourself from jumping up and down to this one.

Electro-House | Midnight Conspiracy – Satellite

Ah, what a pleasant surprise from Midnight Conspiracy. I was a little curious to what route they would take with this Electro-House follow up of “Sentinel.” Midnight Conspiracy has been more than generous with the bass on this track, including my favorite well executed sound, the laser. The harpsichord sends chills down my spine, as if I just walked into a hauntingly epic rave.
Electro-House, Progressive House | Steve Aoki ft. Polina – Come With Me (Remixes)

The traveling entertainer / aspiring Olympic trampolinist / raver rafter / cake sniper, Steve Aoki has finally released the remix package for single with Polina “Come With Me”. The Pierce Fulton remix that was previewed a long time ago at last gets its release by Steve Aoki and the gang at Ultra Records with its quick electro bursts and driving bass line. The Jidax remix gets a rerelease from the Wonderland remix album and it is my favorite of the bunch with its blistering synths and punchy low end. Both Lazy Rich and up and comer Deorro put their own unique electro spin on the track with powerful grinding low ends. Doorly comes in with the heaviest interpretation of the track with bass heavy, growling dubstep remix.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike Stud x Huey Mack – Dickhead (Prod. Jon Kilmer)
Posted by LoffyG on February 18, 2013
Professional dickheads, Mike Stud & Huey Mack are back with their latest song and video. Sampling “Dickhead” by Kate Nash, this song is awesome from the sample itself to the lyrics that fit it perfectly. My favorite part is when Huey and Mike go back and forth singing while sitting at the bar. Something I don’t believe they’ve done on a track together yet. Definitely worth the listen! Follow these guys on their Twitter accounts below and catch Huey on the Up To No Good Tour starting Thursday! Shouts to J-Kill on the sick production.
Albums | Jetpack Jones – Afterburners 3: The Brink (Mixtape)
Posted by J_Salzer on February 18, 2013
My favorite and your’s, Jetpack Jones, hits us with ANOTHER free mixtape. Jetpack is one of my favorite rappers out right now, because his music puts you in a different mindset than most of the stuff you hear on Worldstar or something. Don’t get me wrong, I like gangster rap as much as the next blogger, but sometimes I need a change of pace. Jetpack Jones is that change of pace. His latest mixtape features terrific bars from the Lakewood native, paired with beats fitting his creative rapping style. The tape is hosted by DJ Charisma, so you know it’s good. Download below and support Jetpack on Twitter and Facebook.

Just stumbled across this “Started From The Bottom” remix from Mike Posner and friends. I actually really like this and the video shows everyone as they create the song. Definitely worth checking out! This is my favorite remix of the song yet.
