I was really excited to see that Detzky gave this track away. The bass-line is sweet, but what really gets me is all the Cartoon Network samples he used. The second drop involves a long sample of “Him,” the uber villain from the Powerpuff Girls, and has a more abstract take on the first drop. All around, this is a really fun track to listen to. Brings me back to the days of “Dexter’s Lab,” “Samurai Jack,” and all those other Cartoon Network greats we were addicted to as kids.

Bryx is one of the coolest artists signed to Ghetto Funk. Besides his awesome Midtempo originals, Bryx is also considered by Redbull as on of the most versatile DJs, not too shabby of a title. This new free Midtempo track from him uses a lot of sweet/nostalgic samples ranging from 50 Cent to a few sounds Skrillex has used in “Make It Bun Dem”.

Dubstep, Preview | FuntCase Ft. MIK – Don’t P*ss Me Off

Those who are familiar with FuntCase know that he has barely made a dent in releases from his music vault. To my great pleasure, he is releasing an 8 track EP titled “Don’t P*ss Me Off,” on March 17th. Good old Saint Patrick’s Day. Today FuntCase released this clip of the EPs title track, and if this one track is any reflection of the EP we are in for a real treat. I love how FuntCase bounces around on this track to keep you interested, jumping from Dubstep to Drumstep with his classic popcorn bass and a few other filthy effects we love. There is mp3 of the track floating around, but it is a low quality version for radio play. I highly recommend holding out for the official release because this track is just too good to taint like that.

How pathetic is it that it has been about 3 weeks since the first Funky Friday post? Talk about a weekly fail, but I am going to revive this idea in full force. Starting out this Friday is a sick funky mix, just so the mood is set right.
Now that the mood is right, it is time to kick off Funky Friday with some real Disco vibes. SyKo has made a few releases that I will never be able to stop listening to. This free orignal takes the cake, it is too good to be true.

Decided to save this weeks R Rated, and for good reason. Sick, nasty tunes have been dropping like flies. For Sev and I to keep up has been an adventure, but I hope everyone enjoys the fruits of our labor. To kick off R this week is actually a Trap tune, one of the heaviest Trap tracks that Sev & I have ever heard. Kai Wachi & Squnto must have been craving some twerkable filth because this track is insane! I am still on the fence about Trap, but if you are going to have it, this track is a must have.

Au5 & I.Y.F.F.E (In Your Face F*ck Everything) have been bass predators as of late. The two have been feature on some the most insane Dubstep tracks. This remix they jumped on in with Auratic and Lafunkt is a behemoth, I can slowly sense myself going deaf every time I press play.
Don’t let these first tracks fool you, this is one of our biggest R Rated posts to date.

Holy cat’s pajamas…. this remix is a mind blow. On my first listen still and the flood of emotion from the drop is still flowing through me. Kicks N Licks just made the list of artists to watch out for. This remix is just too amazing for words right now.

Dubstep, Preview | Alvin Risk – SKYCLAD

It is about time Alvin Risk had a good release. I am so sick of hearing sick new tracks in his live sets and then when he makes a release it’s one of the worst things I have ever heard. Sadly the official preview leaves out the most important part of the track that helps a person decide if they like it or not, the drop. Don’t be sad for long because I happened to find a little clip ripped from a mix that plays out what we want to hear. It is because of this that I have finally come to the conclusion that Alvin Risk still has it, he just needs to start making more releases to prove it. “Skyclad” releases March 5th on OWSLA.
