Dubstep | Infuze – Release Yourself EP

Posted by on June 4, 2014

With support from Datsik, Infuze released this EP today, fittingly titled “Release Yourself”. This three track monster is filled with dubstep and amazing vocals from Charlie Fox and Bailey Smalls. I love finding new dubstep gems, and with support from Datsik and a release on Firepower Records you know it has got to be good. My favorite track is the first, “Release Yourself”, because of the heavier sound, but they all are classics and each bring something different to the table. Grab it on Beatport.

Fox Stevenson - All This Time EP
Internet sensation Fox Stevenson has released his much anticipated EP “All This Time”. The singer / songwriter / producer does it all, making the beats that range from drum n bass to cheery, melodic electro to dub and then writes and sings the slight angsty vocals on the tunes. The four track brings a lot of variety and shows a rare talent that sings and produces his own music in the dance realm. Make sure you pay special attention to “Out There”.

Electronic, Trap | Ostra – Won’t Do // Zu-Zumba

Posted by on May 14, 2014

Over here at FNT we’re die hard DIEHIGH fans so it came as no surprise that I was instantly hooked by one of their latest releases showcasing LA-based newcomer Ostra. This EP is pretty interesting considering the two very different approaches taken with each track. The first, “Won’t Do” will cater perfectly for those Wave Racer fans out there meanwhile the second is a fascinating collage of latin guitar, Mr.Carmack-esque trap, and crowds chanting. Diggin’ the originality. Cop this EP and keep an eye out for future releases from this newbie.

Hip-Hop | Christian Deshun – 777

Christian Deshun does it again with the release of visuals for his track “777” off his acclaimed EP SMPLCTY and if this doesn’t put him on the map, then ya’ll don’t know good hip hop. With a unique flow over a beat that’s lead by an old school saxophone top line and that Louisiana swamp swag, there’s no reason for this track not to end up on your playlist. I’ve personally had the track on repeat, feeling like a straight G, getting work done, and bouncing to it all at the same time. If you’re trying to cop this track head over to AudioMack,to download the full EP. This is a must listen and a must download!

Dubstep | Seven Lions – Worlds Apart EP

Seven Lions - Worlds Apart EP
Whenever Seven Lions releases new music, you immediately stop what you are doing to take a listen. His sound is so unique, enthralling and well put together that every time you hear new something him it is a totally different experience. Recently signed to Universal’s burgeoning dance imprint Casablanca Records, which has artists like Tiësto, TJR, Martin Garrix and Chase & Status in its stables, Seven Lions was given access to top of the line topline writers like Ellie Goulding and Kerli.

All five tunes show the mastery of Jeff Montalvo and the hard work he has put in over the winter break he took from touring to focus on just making music. The aforementioned Ellie Goulding kicks off the EP, featured on the first track. It is fitting that someone whose career is largely owed to producers remixing her songs, Ellie Goulding, hopped on this EP to provide her instantly recognizable vocal talents to the trancy opening tune, “Don’t Leave”. Only “Strangers” is a previously released track, with each record having its own feel and sound, yet remaining true to the Seven Lions ethos. This may be his most complete EP to date and this will hold us over for quite some time as we know the perfectionist takes a while to release material.

.OZ Just Kick It Remix EP

FNT EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE

After listening to this EP, you’re going to be wondering why you hadn’t discovered this bedroom producer far earlier in your music listening career. Formally known as .OZ and currently stationed in the Phoenix locale, though native to LA, he is attending The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences refining and expanding his style while developing himself as an artist.

SoundCloud | Twitter

My first real encounter with .OZ was on one of my random summer mornings about a year ago now where I had one of my YouTube channel subscriptions playing, chilling on my patio, with the music in the background really – I wash’t paying that much attention to it. It had been awhile since a song had played that I had caught my attention so I was just about done with the station I had been listening to when Marvin Gaye’s “Sunny” familiar tune started playing and it’s probably a sin to skip that song so I left it on, not noticing that it was a remix. Within a minute, I was frantically running back to my phone, dying to know who had made much such a integrative, banging, song ~ I immediately went to his SoundCloud feed and pressed Follow.

As the months went on, I saw him post new material and slowly but surely he built himself a nice collective of songs that were of legit quality and are on a level that I feel like everyone can connect with, which is something that is hard to capture nowadays because of so many subgeneric artists. And after I reached out to him to get his first EP drop ever as a FNT exclusive because it’s just too good of a project to go unnoticed, I didn’t regret it a single bit.

Though he should be known as The Last Honest Producer, he formally goes by Moises Godoy. After linking up and getting a feel for his style, I can easily say he is one of the dopest, most down to earth, selfless producers I have ever got the pleasure of meeting. Not simply because he’s truly passionate about the music that he makes, but because he actually put’s some conscious thought behind the music that he’s making. It’s like he’s taken the essence of the original and put some special sauce on top to take it to the next level sort of deal.

The “Just Kick It” Remix EP is a compilation of .OZ’s interpretation of the things going on around him over the past year and a mastered product of his musical ear. Fresh New Tracks has the pleasure of sharing this EP with you exclusively via our SoundCloud feed.

If you like what you hear here, his next venture is to drop a Original’s EP in about a month which will probably be nothing less of impressive after what he’s dished out so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if this new kid on the block breaks out into the industry soon enough.

Alternative, Chill | Dream Koala – Saturn Boy

Posted by on April 30, 2014

Dream Koala dropped this track today for free to show off what is to come on the new EP called “Earth. Home. Destroyed.” coming out on May 7th. According to Dream Koala, “the storyline paints a future where all the animals disappeared from Earth, where the oceans are devouring the continents and where the harmony of nature was broken by humans” on the new EP. “Saturn Boy” is chill and ambient with really interesting lyrics. Mellow and calming, this track is a great addition to any alternative collection.
