In honor of his father who died 6 months ago today, DOSVEC delivers us his newest masterpiece of a mixtape. Going strictly with electro/dance styled mashups at 128 bpm, DOSVEC out did himself on this mixtape. The set itself is great for any occasion, whether it’s a party or a dance floor. I love the wide array of vocals packed into these mashes, showcasing many different decades of catchy tracks. After giving this mixtape a full listen, I wish it wouldn’t be an embarrassment for me to bust out in this library. Mashups | Doug Bogan – I Can’t Let You Go

There has been a rumbling this week throughout the blog community regarding the overuse of samples and a general lack of creativity present in mashups of late. Doug Bogan heard those thoughts and took them to heart. For his latest track, Doug tried to break this trend and incorporate a truly unique set of samples:
I believe most listeners will be hard pressed to find some of these samples present in many, if any pre-existing mashups. Using Araabmuzik’s I Can’t Let It Go as a bumping backing track, I then added in verses from B.o.B. and J.Cole with Aesop Rock, Ellie Goulding and Jay-Z and Kanye West also present throughout the track.

We like to skip the holidays and use the time to mentally and physically prepared ourselves to bring in the New Year with a bang! This remix is some of the sickest, glitchy heavy electro I have ever laid my ears upon. I am getting just as sick as everyone else of all these Ellie Goulding remixes, but this remix I had to make an exception considering this barely reflects anything Ellie, besides a slip of the vocals here or there. This beat gives Mord Fustang a run for his money.

What a great Sunday Track… Ellie Goulding fans, tune in. Sunday Girl’s sweet angel voice is the perfect dressing for this club-esque track done up by Them Jeans. Although I wish there were more vocals and less SHM “One” claps, I’m still giving this one the thumbs up. Let me know what you all think by tweeting at us or dropping a comment on the post.

Minnesota never really disappoints. This has to be one of the better (in comparison with Bassnectar’s “Lights” remix) of the Ellie Goulding remixes. Definitely one of Minnesota’s best since his “California Dreamin” remix.
