ZAYN’s “Pillowtalk” has been climbing up the charts, which means that there will be LOTS of remixes. However, Aash Mehta’s remix/cover of the track featuring vocals from country artist Gary Garris truly stands out from the rest. Aash puts a melodic yet powerful spin on the original – creating a genre-blending track that definitely has something for everyone. The up and coming 21-year-old’s remix to “Pillowtalk” is one you definitely need to add to your library, so grab that free download now and don’t forget to thank us later!

Startup labels seem to be all the rage these days. Thanks to the success of independent outlets such as Soulection and Pilerats, to name a few, off-the-radar artists have hit the internet jackpot. Today’s startup spotlight goes to Rooftops Horizon, a label based out of Paris, the city of love and great music. This compilation features tracks from some of our current favorite producers such as Rusty Hook, salute, and Renz, alongside some new names, JL and Romby. Snatch this free download for some blissful listening this Monday evening. (I’ve had “Gold Rush” on repeat for an hour now)
Electronic, Hip-Hop | 10 Reasons Why You Should Be Into • Dot •

Kate Ellwanger, formally known as Dot, is a 22-year-old composer, vocalist, and producer who is currently signed to Alpha Pup Records. Though she started off learning from Steve Nalepa, dub beat guru, she’s evolved into Hip Hop and Electronic’s wonder women ~ and here’s why.
1. She just came out with her single “Parasomnia” which was featured by Run Tha Trap
2. All the proceedings that she makes from single above go to a global activist movement called V-Day, which ends violence against women and girls ~ which makes her awesome!
3. She is a member of TeamSupreme
4. Her single “Super Moon” is a whole new level of dope
5. She’s a badass blonde that makes bangers
6. She has two homebases – Olympia and Los Angeles
7. Some of her musical influences come from Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing
8. Her profile picture that dots her blog and SoundCloud is effortlessly cool
9. She’s THE FOUNDER of Unspeakable Records, an all female label that supports creative women from around the world
10. Her first live debut was at Low End Theory in 2011 (an experimental Hip Hop and Electronic night club found in LA), where he track “Calliope” became a club favorite, jump starting her DJ career
Electronic | Midnight Pool Party – Linger
Posted by mimada on April 16, 2014
Well folks, it’s the middle of April which means it took me an entire four months to find a new artist to start obsessing over (2014, get your shit together!). But it seems my hunting has come to a end, well temporarily, of course, as I would like to introduce you all to Midnight Pool Party. This band comes from where else other than the down under: Sydney, to be exact. Their style is summarized by a contagious, feel good, retro disco sound, or better put in their own words, a “potent cocktail of funky guitar licks, infectious keys and swoonsome choruses.” Their latest single, “Linger” and all its remixes (especially Luke Million’s) is a great starting place to fall in love with these party people, and once you’re ready for more, you can catch up with me over on their Miami Horror “Real Slow” remix as I’ve had it on repeat for about a week now. They’ve got their tracks available for free download so you can cop them, play them for your friends, and all dance until you drop.

Jersey Club | Rusty Hook – Get So Fly
Posted by mimada on April 6, 2014
As soon as you hear that iconic riff, you’ll already know what it is – but lemme just tell you to wait a second because this is, quite frankly, even better. As soon as I pressed play on Bordeaux-producer, Rusty Hook’s Baby Bash remix, “Get So Fly,” I straight up got the chills! Imagine the original, except without the cheesy lyrics, with a Jersey Club twist and full of unexpected breaks and pauses that leave you just dying to hear more. In the short amount of time this track has been live via Cosmonostro and Marmorean Records, it has already ran dry of free downloads, but you can still take 4 minutes and 20 seconds to get absolutely lifted, shifted, and higher than the ceiling (you know the rest).
