Dubstep, Electro-House, Preview | Skrillex – Puppy

Posted by on February 18, 2013

Well it seems that Skrillex may have an album coming this Summer. It is about time he started to make releases from his massive vault of tracks. The video is a commercial for G-Star Denim, which features the first known single that may or may not be a part of the album. “The Art of RAW,” (clearly a play on words of the book, “The Art of War”), is described by Skrillex as a blend of Electro-House, Dubstep, and fidget. An interesting blend for sure, I am happy that I actually enjoy this clip. The “Bangarang EP” was boring in my opinion, it baffles me that Skrillex managed to pull a Grammy from the title single. A creatively wild track such as this only leaves me wondering if an album would be all that we have been hoping for over the past 2 years. At this point it’s hard to say, and just as Skrillex has stated LPs in the past, this Summer could end up another disappointment. I’m sure there is just a lot of confusion between his upcoming Dog Blood releases and his new project with Diplo and A-Trak.

Edit: Well, it turns out that the track is not called “The Art of Raw” but is in fact named “Puppy”.

Mashups | DOSVEC – Bright Diamonds

Posted by on February 12, 2013

Bright Diamonds

DOSVEC takes Rihanna’s vocals from “Diamonds” and combines it with The Knocks “Brightside” (TheFatRat Mix). This mashup highlights both side of the spectrum by starting off chill on the breakdown then hard on the hook.

Electro-House, Exclusive, Featured, Preview | Dido – No Freedom (Benny Benassi Remix)

Posted by on January 31, 2013

Dido - No Freedom (Benny Benassi Remix)For those who didn’t know, the legendary Dido is releasing a new album, “Girl That Got Away” March 4th. Featured on the deluxe version of the album is this sick Electro-House remix from Benny Benassi that we have been given the opportunity to premiere to our fans today. I think my favorite thing about this remix is you can see how Benny has successfully adapted his style to the styles that are becoming more and more popular. Benny and Dido have been members of the music world for a long time and the fact that they can come through with great tracks still is incredible.

Electro-House, Exclusive, Featured | KillSonik – Slaughterhouse (Gemini Remix)

Posted by on January 30, 2013

KillSonik - Where The River Runs Black EPWhen people hear or see Gemini’s name they geek out, including myself. After hearing about KillSonik’s remix of Gemini’s “Robots,” I wondered if Gemini also remixed something of KillSonik’s. Well, MTA Records has been kind enough to let us premiere that remix. “Slaughterhouse” was already an incredible orignal from KillSonik, and usually I hate having to listen to a remix of something that is great on its own. This may be in fact the greatest Electro-House track Gemini has ever created. I have never heard Gemini drop in lasers and guitar rifts the way he has on this insane remix. If there is anything to pull from this, it’s that it is time to rage.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Moombahton, Review | KillSonik – Where The River Runs Black EP

KillSonik - Where The River Runs Black EP

I literally could not wait for the release of this EP. KillSonik has done nothing but blow my mind on what type of artists they are to be known as. The duo kicked off the EP with a filthy Moombahton track, “Where The River Runs Black.” I never would have guessed that they would drop in a moombahcore track, let alone end up loving it. The first Dubstep track “Walrus” has had my mind going in spins the past few days. I enjoy the mellow intro that breaks into spooky synths, building up to an epic drop that I will forever relate to the mighty Walrus haha. “Slaughterhouse” is by far my favorite track of the EP. It is everything I hoped to hear from KillSonik in terms of a Dubstep track. Close behind in second though, “Je Te Veux” turned out to be the best surprise. When I found out the track was Electro-House, I was instantly excited to listen. To my enjoyment, this track owns face. Every expectation I have had over the past few months building my impatience was every bit worth the wait. KillSonik delivered.

Electro-House | Justin Bieber – As Long As You Love Me (No Pets Allowed Remix)

Posted by on January 17, 2013

I want to hate this so much because it’s Justin Bieber, but I can’t help but give credit where deserved. This turned out to actually be a great Electro-House production from No Pets Allowed. The drop reflects older Electro-House, or real Electro-House as I will call it. Most of the new Electro-House tracks now sound borderline Dubstep. Though I am embarrassed for liking this, No Pets Allowed kept it real and tasteful.

Dubstep, Electro, Electro-House, Preview | Feed Me – Death By Robot EP

Posted by on January 10, 2013

Feed Me (AKA Spor) has been very busy the past months, it’s not easy being the CEO of Deadmau5′ record label, Mau5trap, while owning your own Drum & Bass label, Lifted. You can tell he enjoys his work though, which is why this next EP of his will be just as good as the last. Every new EP of his seems to reflect different styles. I don’t think he’s lost but I do believe he loves trying any and everything. His new EP title track “Death By Robot” sounds like it is going to be the best Electro-House track he has ever done. I know that is a tall order, but just from this small clip I am dying to have a full copy. “Gravel” is a dirty sounding Electro and Tech-House blend. Could be a little repetitive for some, but I feel like in a live setting it is just what the doctor ordered. “Dial Up Days” was a little hard for me to decipher, it’s Dubstep but Breakbeat but also Nu-Dance. Besides confusing this turned out to be a really cool, not your usual, laid back tune to dance to. Only six days away, Feed Me’s new EP releases on January 6th.
