Trance | Dash Berlin vs. Coldplay – Ticking Clocks (Dash Berlin’s Essential ‘Warmplay’ Rework)
Posted by Middy on August 9, 2012
While it is true that Coldplay has become quite the polarizing band with almost equal the amount of people who adore them and people who hate them, it is undeniable that they have come up with two of the most recognizable melodies of the past 10 years with “Clocks” and “Viva la Vida”. “Clocks” has been mashed, bootlegged, remixed and generally abused over and over again since its release, but when the infallible Dash Berlin takes a swing at it, you listen as he connects on this impeccable rework of a classic. He adds a trance build and melody that molds perfectly to what Coldplay had previously constructed, adding vocal bits to help the melody soar. I am loving these reworks from Dash Berlin lately with not only this one, but his ode to California in his remix of Tupac’s classic “California Love“. NYC people, Dash Berlin will be at Lavo on August 23 in a great club show you won’t want to miss, so get tickets HERE (show up early). If you do not catch him there or did not have enough Dash Berlin for the summer (is it possible?), he will be main stage at Electric Zoo on Sunday, so do not miss his set as he will be in his element, primed and ready to go.
Trance | Jaytech feat. Steve Smith – Stranger
Posted by Spice on July 31, 2012
After commanding serious airtime on all of the weekly trance radio shows, Jaytech’s blissed out, otherworldly anthem “Stranger” has finally dropped on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats. While I’m partial to Kyau & Albert’s riveting and intense reboot (see above; it’s set to drop on August 20), the original is fantastic as well — you simply can’t argue with those vocals against that watery synth backdrop. Expect this track to send sparks flying in the Group Therapy tent at Electric Zoo next month, and look for it on Jaytech’s upcoming album Multiverse, out August 13.
“Stranger” is out now on UK iTunes and Beatport.

Electric Zoo is less than two months away and now we have the official trailer from Made Event, which is a bit disappointing I must say, but to really get you in the mood for this year and your heart rate up, just watch the after movie from last year. The lineup this year lacks the trance god in Armin, but is made up with a bountiful display of talent across the board with the likes of Above & Beyond on Friday AND Saturday, bringing their friends to the Group Therapy stage on Friday, as well as notables such as Pretty Lights, Knife Party, Skrillex, Porter Robinson, Axwell, Dada Life, Tiesto, Dash Berlin, Hardwell and everything in between from your underground house to dubstep to trance. It has something for everyone, so if you are in the NYC area on Labor Day weekend, your plans have been made and the ticket link below with the lineup is your next course of action.
Progressive House, Videos | Hardwell & JoeySuki – Munster
Posted by Middy on November 21, 2011
As premiered at Electric Zoo in New York, Hardwell & JoeySuki have combined to bring us this massive tune, “Munster”. This is pure festival magic, with its high pitched synths and growling kicks that lead into a quintessential Hardwell drop with massive big room synths and pounding bass. Play this loud and often, because this will be a staple of many DJ sets to come. Get it on Beatport HERE.

House, Review | Hardwell & Nicky Romero – Beta
Posted by Middy on September 26, 2011
Both of these songs go really, really hard. Kameha has so much energy in the drop and I cannot wait for the release which is supposed to be “very soon”. This Hardwell and Nicky Romero collaboration first played at Electric Zoo has so much energy in it. Play it loud and often and just let that drop ride.

After spending a day or so covering Electric Zoo, we realized what a daunting task we had on our hands. With four stages of fury, it was pretty much impossible to take in the whole scene by ourselves. Luckily for us Jon Kilmer came to our rescue with some dope footage. After you check out the footage, peep his facebook for more videos.
