Skrubz has turned out to be a very well rounded producer. Starting off his little career with some dubstep and drum and bass, he has branched out over the summer, releasing house, electro, and now dutch tracks. “Call On Me” is one of the most legendary tracks in electronic music, but no one has seemed to think, ‘Oh hey! I should make a remix of this.’ Skrubz would not have been my first choice to do so, but after listening to this remix, he did an amazing job.

Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites is just one of those songs that have been remixed by everyone on the planet, yet none of them seem to trump the original. Rather than trying to trump the womps so defty produced by Skrillex, Gabriell took this track in an entirely different direction. His disco house take on this iconic dubstep heater is truly unique and worth at least one listen.

The video for Rednek’s upcoming track, “They Call Me” hit the internet yesterday, and it’s amusing and very well done. A few moments definitely echo some of the crazy effects in Skrillex’s First of the Year video. Also really feeling the song; reggae-infused dubstep (typically referred to as “dub”) — who wouldn’t love that? Then again, this is the guy behind one of the more bizarre songs I’ve heard recently, so this atypical track doesn’t shock me too much. Banjo riffs aside, I think Rednek is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

MartyParty, born and raised in South Africa, has been coined the Iggy Pop of electronic music. Marty picked up Ableton Live in 2005 and began to learn the art of music production. His sound is a hybrid of electronic music, dubstep and hip hop that together forms a totally new flavor of urban beat with the pretty hypnotic elements of electronic music and hard-hitting bass. This stuff is perfect for those listeners who need to be eased into “harder” genres such as dubstep. Big ups to Katie for sending us this gem.

Dubstep | Knife Party News, Flume, Xaphoon Jones, and DREKKEN

I finally gave into twitter, Im ashamed of myself, but it has turned out to be quite useful. Follow me Machbeats. Knife Party updated their twitter today with the announcement of a new EP (SHM please take notes on what a real announcement is). It is titled ‘100% No Modern Talking,” and will consist of 4 tracks, Internet Friends, Tournquet, Fire Hive, and Back To The Z-List. They plan to release the EP on Beatport and iTunes, but also stated that they will make the EP available FREE where ever possible. No word yet on the release date.

These next two remixes from Flume and Xaphoon Jones aren’t your usual dubstep styled tracks. Flume kicks it old school in a way with his style being nothing short of the coolest. Xaphoon, a little late on the Lights remix, starts it at a slow BPM, only to drop in with some faster BPM, indie vibed dubstep.

DREKKEN is one of those artist no one knows about. Those you that have listened to his tracks before know he is the s#!t. I like a lot of his trance/dubstep tracks, its a rare thing to find an artist who can pull that blend off. This track has been out for a bit, but I figured the people need to hear this hot remix.

Drum and Bass is not something you will find often on FNT, but when you do, you know it has got to be fire. For Drum and Bass, this is a sick dance track, listening to it just makes me want to bust out on the dance floor. Megaclown is a filthy, and I mean FILTHY, dubstep producer. He rarely goes outside of his strong comfort zone, but the times he has, he has come up with bombs like this.
