Drum & Bass | Deadmau5 – The Veldt (Mr FijiWiji Remix Ft. Matt Emery)

Posted by on August 11, 2012

Mr FijiWiji has yet to disappoint me with his Drum & Bass productions. He always seems to know where the sweet spot is when it comes to making a great track or remix. In addition, Matt Emery’s cover of “The Veldt” vocals sounds incredible. His voice has an original but friendly tone to it, as if it had been from someone you’ve known your whole life. One of many remixes of the Deadmau5 original, but definitely one of the best.

Drum & Bass | Drum & Bass Friday

Posted by on July 27, 2012

This has to be one of the coolest tracks to open up Drum & Bass Friday. A few days ago Camo & Krooked were invited to make the track of the day for Radio FM4. The duo was given 5 sound samples (Mozart, Falco, Sound of Music, Jodelling, and Cowbells), with the requirement to produce a track using all 5 samples with only 1.5 hours to do it. Below is what Camo & Krooked came up with, and it is clear the skills these two have in production. An incredible job done with the strangest assortment of samples and little time to accomplish anything.

This next track is actually from a release of Dieselboy’s back in 2004. Available for free download as of today, it is unlike anything anyone is used to hearing from Dieselboy. I actually havent heard him produce anything close to Drum & Bass in a long time, his most relative tracks being more Drumstep.

The newest release from Noisia now happens to be one of my favorites of theirs. The vocals are coarse and give off an eerie feel, once Noisia’s heavy sounds break in, chills are sent down your spine. This is an epic Drum & Bass tune.

Drum & Bass | Drum & Bass Fraturday

Posted by on July 14, 2012

The weekly Drum & Bass post has seemed to be either on Fridays or Saturdays, mainly dependent on how satisfied we are with the Drum & Bass selection or how busy our Fridays tend to be. After drafting the post last night, I knew I had some great tracks for this post but was still disappointed in how much it actually contained. I am still not entirely satisfied, but some of these tracks can’t wait any longer.

First track is an awesome Reggae Hop styled Drum & Bass track from Jinx. With a little bit of Dub vibes as most Reggae has, this track is insanely catchy and addicting. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have already listened to it.

This next one is definitely the rare Drum & Bass funky party tune. Sampling some of the 90s babies favorite jams including beat sampling from Austin Power’s theme track and other Pop Culture references. A fun track to listen to or party to.

Although this is only a clip with no official release date, Mitis has been on roll lately. He has been dipping his toes in almost every electronic genre and taking names in the process. The Drum & Bass/Drumstep original of his is nuts, Mitis wastes no time in blowing your mind.

Drum & Bass | Rusko – Thunder (Tantrum Desire Remix)

Posted by on July 10, 2012

“Thunder” was undoubtedly Rusko’s best track off his new album, and possibly one of the best he has ever created….in my opinion of course. To have a remix of such a great track is a complete waste (for examples please visit Beatport’s contest page for ‘Zedd – Spectrum Remixes’). However, I will give Tantrum Desire huge credit for maintaining that perfect storm in “Thunder” while delivering the Drum & Bass blow. A Drum & Bass VIP from Rusko would have sufficed, but considering how good this remix is, I wont worry too much about it.

Drum & Bass | Drum & Bass Friday

UKF is known for having not the best in Drum & Bass, but I have to say this remix from Friction sounds awesome. It has great chilled out vibes, with some heavy bass thrown in but more to compliment the track not over power the vocals, kicks, and snare. Just an awesome dance/lounge Drum & Bass tune. It releases September 17th this year.

This next track is the gem of this weeks Drum & Bass Friday. Ragga Jungle, this heavy vocalized tune is perfect. The context of the track is a little sad, but still a work of art. This is the first release off the Curfew Love Riddim.

Wow, this is an incredible Drum & Bass remix of BT. I was shocked when I found out how little people have heard of BT or have even heard any of his work. His original works are great, but his tracks are some of the best to remix.

This track reminds me a bit of Haywyre, due to the use of the Razor style. It a cool sound for sure and now getting to here it in a Drum & Bass setting, I now see many more great uses to the Razor style. Cool and Creative track from Fryonic.

I have never heard a Grimy Drum & Bass tune like this before. It almost sounds as if this is a blend of Garage, Grime, and Drum & Bass. Not sure how other will feel about this track, but I am definitely feeling this new blending.

This is a heavy factory Drum & Bass tune. Listening to it make me think of old Russian warehouses being broken into and holding massive raves. With support of Dieselboy, The Upbeats destroyed this MSTRKRFT track. Big tune.

Drum & Bass | PsychoFreud – Still Moving

Posted by on June 11, 2012

Technically this is actually Jungle, but considering they are relative genres, Drum & Bass was well suited to label this track under. PsychoFreud just gave us a Freudian slip. The fast paced drums and kicks with that latin acoustic sound, teamed up with Reggae blended with old 50s Rat-pack vocal swag. This track and my ears were a match made in Heaven.

Glitch | Protohype – Glitch Stomp ft. Max Hype -FNT Exclusive-

Posted by on June 5, 2012

First off shout out to Tocsix, for this bomb artwork. Next, I am happy to present you guys with an exclusive Glitch tune from one of my favorites rising artists, Protohype. Known for his heavy hitting Dubstep and Drum & Bass tunes, Protohype decided to put a spin on his next release and go with an all out Glitch tune titled “Glitch Stomp”. With vocals on the track by Max Hype, Protohype brings some of his grimey, chainsaw sounding synths to this fidgety tune. Be sure to follow him on Soundcloud and like his Facebook in the links provided below.
