Whenever meeting an artist for the first time, you never know what you’re going to get. You go into with a certain trepidation and understanding that these artists could be a giant twat. It’s often hard to reconcile that idea, because it’s hard to separate the man from the music. Crnkn has been killing everything he touches for the longest time, whether it was his Diplo and Friends mix, any of his massive remixes, or his shows which I was privileged enough to go see in Indy. Today he releases a brand new remix to Banks’ Bedroom Wall and tries a new spin on it. Featuring a more deep house sound, the track is very groovy and offers a different yet fantastic new sound from Crnkn then we’ve heard from his other stuff. The infamous Lido from Norway is back with a BIG remix of Bill Wither’s “Ain’t No Sunshine” and did remix justice to the timeless tune by infusing elements of trap, glitch, and overall dopeness! If I were Diplo, I watch my back, Lido is without a doubt on his way to being a household name if he keeps it up! Even major labels like Universal are starting to get worried as you may recall Lido’s “Latch” remix which set the internet on fire, and yet was taken down for copyright infringement. Don’t sleep on this record, this is a must listen!
