Moombahton, Trap | Adventure Club Ft Krewella – Rise & Fall (D!RTY AUD!O Remix)

Posted by on July 26, 2012

Just when you thought you had heard all the remixes to Adventure Club’s track featuring Krewella, Rise & Fall, D!RTY AUD!O comes through again with something completely different from the rest. We have heard Krewella’s heavy dubstep remix. We have heard AT DAWN WE RAGE’s fantastic dubstep remix. Now D!RTY AUD!O has rolled through with a one of a kind moombahton-to-trap remix that definitely stands out from the rest. This track has done moombahton justice in my opinion, contributing a completely stylish and original drop that blows my mind every single time I listen to it. The build and progression of the track are top notch and the use of the vocals is excellent. I hate to say this over and over again, but I see great things to come for D!RTY AUD!O in the near future.

Trap | Flosstradamus – Rollup (Baauer Remix)

Posted by on July 25, 2012

The hype that has been building around this up coming Trap-style artist lately, Baauer, is crazy. Every single one of his releases are being played out by all the big EDM artist, which says something in itself. Just 6 months ago nobody knew who he was or what he was doing and now people are going crazy over his sensational Trapt out tracks. The Trap movement hasnt completely won me over yet, but I will give it some more time. In the mean time this remix of Flosstradamus’s Rollup is a pretty sick remix by him. It is definitely on some next level hip-hop stuff.

Dubstep, Electro, Electro-House | Feed Me – Annie Nightingale BBC Radio 1 Mix

Posted by on July 23, 2012

Last Saturday Feed Me appeared on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show. The show consisted of this 20 minute mix that Feed Me was nice enough to post on his Soundcloud for everyone. His mix contains many new tracks of his that he has been working on recently. This mix is incredible, it is such a treat for fans when an artist goes and plays this many unreleased works together. Feed Me is a class act, definitely one of favorites to listen to and see perform live. I hope this mix means he has something releasing soon.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Hopsin – ill mind of Hopsin 5

Posted by on July 18, 2012

I’m not much of a Hopsin fan, but this really intrigued me. His lyrics are out there but his flow is on point. The emphasis is what really got me with this song, especially his yelling. This definitely makes me want to listen to some of his other stuff. Make sure to be on the lookout for more Hopsin and his Ill Mind.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Videos | New Childish Gambino on Tim Westwood [Video]

Posted by on July 14, 2012

It seems that the days of genuine freestyling are all but behind us. Once a critical part of an upcoming emcee’s resume, freestyle sessions (like those of popular English DJ Tim Westwood) have now become a place where artists preview written verses, generally covering up the fact that they actually can’t freestyle at all. In the past year or so, this fact has become even more transparent, with artists like Drake (and now Childish Gambino) literally reading their “freestyle” verses off of their phones. Call it what you want—I’d still say it’s more honest than the opposite—like when J. Cole went on Westwood last year and delivered an impeccable freestyle that we all realized a few months later was just a verse on his debut album. Regardless, Childish Gambino is blowing up fast, and not only that—he is improving ridiculously fast as a rapper. While there are definitely a few songs off of CAMP that I like to bump, on a scale of most impressive elements of the project, his flow and lyricism were dead-last. Royalty, on the contrary (which you can download here in case you missed it), is a showcase of his radical improvement, which occured most clearly in those two areas. Now, he’s on a press tour, and of course makes the critical Westwood stop to drop off a handful of newly-scribed verses (you can tell just how fresh they are when CG laughs at the “bok choy” line). Watch him drop some impressive lines over Usher’s “Lemme See”, and do justice to the Harry Fraud instrumental that has been getting torn apart lately (cc: Kinetics’ “Chris Nolan”).

Hip-Hop | Eddy B & Tim Gunter – Underdog

Posted by on June 25, 2012

Eddy B & Tim Gunter are back with this anthem for all the underdogs out there. As always, the production is on point, with Eddy dropping some great lines over it. This is definitely one of their best releases yet, so make sure to grab the track and show them some love on their Facebook and Twitter below.

Dubstep | Adventure Club – Need Your Heart (feat. Kai)

Posted by on June 22, 2012

No doubt about it, Adventure Club is dropping bombs lately. This most recent addition to their growing repertoire is markedly different from the last string of mixes they’ve released — “Need Your Heart” has an upbeat, summery vibe and features some funky vocals from Kai that work perfectly with that heavy beat. My weekend started last night at Bro Safari’s Bros Gone Wild tour (more on that later) but this song is definitely getting me in that Friday mindset.
