Eric Prydz has graced us with yet another Essential Mix, which makes it two for him this year. Packed with ID’s, the man brings us an expectedly fresh and forward thinking mix. This mix was recorded live in Ibiza, and whoever was lucky enough to see it live got quite a show. He definitely now has two mixes in the running for Essential Mix of the year. Inaki’s melodic remix of “Higher” was released this Saturday afternoon and it is absolutely stunning. Inaki is just 18 years old, but his dubstep tracks are exceptional. He made sure not to overpower the vocals with bass, but the bass will still blow you away. It has a slow buildup and when the drop finally hits, it doesn’t disappoint. This track will definitely kick off your Saturday night in the right direction. Play this one on some big speakers, and download it for free!

Hip-Hop | HAHA-YO – Dancing Like An Idiot [Video]

HAHA-YO has returned funkier than ever and on a mission to protect the secret sauce.
Whatever the secret sauce may be, HAHA-YO most definitely put plenty of it on this last song and video. In an industry filled with monotonous, unoriginal artists I can say without hesitation that there is no one quite like HAHA-YO. The duo can make the most introverted, shy listener get up on his or her feet and dance with the play of a song.
“Dancing Like an Idiot” is without a doubt on the lighter side of hip-hop and has a sound sure to attract many kitchen-dancers, shower-singers, and motor vehicle-rockstars alike.
Directed by Mikey Van Beuren, the video is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. A mini-movie to go along with the soundtrack, the visual follows Boyder and Lukey the Bird on their journey to save their pizza dynasty and each other. There are -thankfully- no shots rapping in to a camera from a rooftop or in a studio, instead the team has given you something to sit down, enjoy and actually get intrigued by.

Dubstep | Konec – Y2K

Konec has been a machine lately when it comes to releasing music. Unlike other artist who tend to sit on a track for months at a time, Konec holds no barred with his releases, which is a good thing in my opinion. Go ahead and classify this tracks genre however you want, for all I care you can call it neurotrapstep, but it is a quality tune. This fusion of multiple styles in one track is what gives it a flavor of its own and separates it from the rest. Konec seems to be starting this new trend of four to floor 140bpm tracks. Although we don’t see it in this track, if you check out the mix he did for BassCollective(linked below) you can definitely see it in his new unreleased stuff along with his released track ‘Railgun’ . Dubstep, Trap | Sound Remedy – Chiaroscuro

Sound Remedy’s new track is quite unique. The track starts out in his signature melodic dubstep style, but takes an unexpected turn into trap about 2 minutes in. It’s generated mixed opinions on his SoundCloud, some even claiming that it ruined the song. I liked the twist and how it brings energy to the song. The blending of genres was executed very smoothly and definitely keeps the listener intrigued. It’s always cool to see artists experimenting with new sound combinations.

I am really excited to finally get to post this epic download from Noisia and the Foreign Beggars’ collaboration project, I Am Legion. This track has been owning my ears for weeks now and finally we can all have a good quality copy of it to blast through our speakers. “Make Those Moves” is the first Neuro-hop track we have heard from Noisia and I have to say it will definitely set the bar for the next generation of bass producers. Dubstep will soon take a backseat to this Hip-Hop and Neuro-funk infused genre.

Progressive House | Pressure Cooker Feat Ryan Ellingson – Only You (Stereoshock Remix)

Having listened to this song for a few days now, I can tell you that Stereoshock’s productions just keep getting better and better. I was a big fan of his “Trembling Hands” remix and was curious how he’d follow up to it. He did so terrifically with his own spin on Pressure Cooker’s “Only You”. The theme of this remix is a lot different than his previous, however. With the clicking of camera’s, chirping of seagulls, and subtle effects such as the breaking of glass or falling of rain, the summer theme is very apparent and well represented. He said that his goal was to “compliment the emotions of the protagonist with vivid imagery of a summertime romance” and while I don’t know anything about romance, the imagery of summertime is definitely there. Everything about this track from the vocals of Ryan Ellingson to the natural beach sounds is superb. Stereoshock keeps improving and he’ll soon be releasing his first original, which is already shaping up to be great.
