Moombahton | Moombah Mondays
Posted by Sev on April 16, 2012
Brown and Gammon taking his stab at some Moombah. Slowly but surely more and more artist are putting their own spin on Moombah opening doors for everyone and bringing new ideas. Not much to report this week as far as Moombahton goes. Kissy Sell Out unleashed this monster remix for Spencer and Hill last week. Overall great sounds in this one and something different from Kissy.
D!RTY AUD!O pulls through once again making a exclusive last minute submission for FNT fans. Really excited to grab his remix of Savior coming out this Wednesday, been dying for it. Nothing less than the usual bangers from this Moombah prodigy, with another bass pumping Moombahcore remix. Grab the free download from his Facebook provided in the link below.
David Heartbreak has been shifting away from his soulful Moombah tracks lately and creating some more aggressive Trap’d and Loc’d remixes. Not going too lie most of the stuff is sounding pretty good. If you find hardstyle tough to bare, I’m not sure how you will cope with this remix.
I am kind of glad I stumbled upon this remix today by HyJax. Although people seem to dislike the original Lick It collab between Skrillex and Kaskade, this one appeals to me for some reason. Loads of bass with the perfect tempo for these synths. Be on the lookout here tomorrow for the official remixes to Lick It along with the release of the music video.
I am always nervous when I am about to listen to a remix of one of Daft Punk’s tunes. The deciding factor for me is if the Daft Punk flavor is lost within the remix, then I can’t bare to listen anymore. Luckily Kromofone was able to maintain some of that signature funk throughout this Moombahcore remix, even contributing a little of his own throughout.
DJ-Set, Electro-House | Tristan Garner – Punx + Set @ Xtra Life #3 Queen Paris
Posted by Middy on March 2, 2012
French Dj/ Producer, Tristan Garner has released his single “Punx” as an ode the french legends “Daft Punk”. Being a member of the Daft Punk generation of French Djs with Gregori Klosman, Arno Cost, Norman Doray and others, who all grew up listening to the signiature sounds of their countrymen Daft Punk, it only makes sense for him to put out this track as a tribute to these great producers. The track is incredible in its own right, playing heavily on the Daft Punk sound and it does work live. Get it on Beatport.
Tristan Garner – Punx (Preview) Release 28.02.12 by Tristan GARNER
Also check out his set from his Xtra Life show at Queen club in Paris last Friday, where he had total control of the crowd and put together some amazing bootlegs, even though he tore open a huge gash on his index finger in the first few minutes of the set. It was a crazy night with Tim Mason demolishing his opening set then disappearing in the back room with some blonde and the Tristan coming on to finish it off. If you like Tristan Garner’s bootlegs, go and check out his 2012 winter bootleg pack HERE. Tracklist after the jump.
Dubstep, Electro | Dada Life – Happy Violence (Timo Juuti & Hector 87 Disco Wobblez Bootleg)
Posted by Sev on January 14, 2012
I know this is probably the tenth remix of this song that has been posted, but Timo Juuti & Hector 87 take a different approach then the other remixers we have posted before. This isn’t the heavy electro, or dubstep remix you would be expecting to hear from this bootleg, but instead a nu disco electro Daft Punk style remix. This has to be my favorite remix to this track because this style works so well with the vocals.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Talent Revealed Vol. 1, John Dahlback – Grunge
Posted by Middy on November 15, 2011
Hardwell recently released a compilation of 3 songs from upcoming producers on his label. I chose the best two to show you guys from Dyro and Kura. Dryo, a dutch producer and DJ gives us “Daftastic”, which stays true to its name and has a strong sound of Daft Punk, but also puts his own spin on it and adds a new original sound. Kuru, a Portuguese DJ, has had the most success of the the bunch, with his song rising into the top 50 of progressive house Beatport charts with its trance infused build and bass driven, chunky synth drop. Get the compilation on Beatport HERE.

John Dalhback continues his ascent in the EDM ranks and his amazing year thus far with his release of “Grunge”. With its grungy bassline, guitar like synth and heavy synths that enter at the break, this song shows John Dahlback’s fantastic production ability. Get this on Beatport HERE.

Electro | Daft Punk – Drive (Unreleased from 1994)
Posted by Middy on September 20, 2011
I will let Soma Records do the talking. Get it HERE.
“At the tail end of 2010 we combed through boxes of DATs, pictures and god knows what else to find artefacts of Soma’s early days,” Chris Lamb (from Soma, Daft Punk’s first label) writes. “Imagine our surprise when we discovered a tape simply titled ‘Daft Drive’. We hooked up the DAT machine and inserted the tape with the utmost care, pressing play and praying that for one, the tape contained what we hoped, and two, that it didn’t savage it like a dog chewing on a bone.
In amongst the hiss and crackle, a monstrous 909 kick drum began to thud – Daft Punk’s Drive track had been rediscovered. Playing through was live Daft Punk: the freaky vocals, pounding Roland drums & synths and that distinctive DP compression. After standing in awed silence, witnessing this moment, the track faded off and we heard the sounds of French words that the recording had been made over; the remnants of their parents audio collection. The tape had originally been sent with Rollin’ and Scratchin’ to be released as Soma25 but Soma asked these two bright-eyed and techno-bound Frenchmen, to finish and send Da Funk instead and DRIVE was shelved for a later date. Until now.”
