The wave of Daft Punk remixes is about to start flowing through, but only the best will survive! Computer Club provides us with the first uplifting DnB remix to ‘Doin It Right’. Not overdoing it whatsoever and utilizing the best parts of the track he was able to create an amazing vibe for this remix which is probably going to be heard throughout summer mixes.

Cover, Videos | PropaneLv – Get Lucky (Daft Punk & Pharrell Cover)

Occasionally PropaneLv’s cover series strays away from it’s hip hop/RnB core for an interesting crossover piece. With Pharrell Williams on the track, Daft Punk’s new single was an obvious opportunity to do just that. Not bad!

Electronic, Indie | Bend – I’m Taking Care of Him
Posted by mimada on April 19, 2013
So now that you’ve got the latest Daft Punk in your sweet possession, add this to your summer playlist in the making:
Meet Bend, an indie synth-pop duo outta Los Angeles who’s previous works prove their versatility on the indie electro front. Their newest single, “I’m Taking Care of Him,” feels a little like an electronic Vampire Weekend battling the AcaFellas over a beautiful grand Steinway piano. This song makes a perfect summer melody as I can just imagine myself listening to it on any occasion, be it on the beach, on a boat, or driving around with the windows down. Or floating in a sea of nebula, you know (see above).
This marks the first of 3 singles to be released until their full LP drops this June. So stay tuned!

House | Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams – Get Lucky
Posted by Middy on April 18, 2013
Finally after the charade of various undetermined radio rips, edits and remakes, we have the finished, otherworldly product from the robots, Nile Rogers and Pharrell Williams. While it seems like the radio rip coming from Canadien and Dutch stations were real, with whirlwind of speculation and fabrication on a level we have never seen for one song, caution was probably the best course of action. Columbia may have been the driver behind all of this to get the anticipation for this album to a fever pitch and it seems to be working. The vocal hook “We’re Up All Night To Get Lucky” will be everywhere for months and years to come, and will for sure be a track played everywhere this summer. The mixture of an intoxicating groove, the smooth vocals from Pharrell and the robotic edge provided by Daft Punk makes this an instant classic in their proud discography. Get the song immediately because at the end of the day we’re up all night to get lucky.
Preview, Videos | Daft Punk tease “Get Lucky” at Coachella
Posted by Middy on April 13, 2013
I know you may be getting a little tired of the Columbia Records driven Daft Punk hype / tease machine that is in full effect right now, but last night at Coachella an artist that did not even perform stole the headlines and the show. All Daft Punk had to do was tease a little more of the track first heard on SNL, bringing in contributions from Niles Rogers, Julian Casablancas of the Strokes and vocals from Pharrell to help complete the picture on this epic track. The unique robotic Daft Punk sound is so great to hear again and combined with the funky riff we have heard countless times, it is sure to be something huge. Listen for yourself and don’t forget to pre-order the album. Updated with SNL Ad clip.
Albums | Daft Punk to release album “Random Access Memories” May 21st, Pre-Order now
Posted by Middy on March 23, 2013
With the full court press being put on by Columbia hyping up this album all over the web and all over the world, putting up posters and slowly releasing small bits of relatively inconsequential information about Daft Punk’s 4th artist album, we can finally say we are the stretch run of the release. The album “Random Access Memories” will be released on May 21st and lets pray there are not any last minute delays. There are no names for any of the 13 songs, but you have the lengths of each of the tracks. You can pre-order the album on iTunes and until then listen to the 15 second clip from the SNL commercial below or listen to it in a 10 hour loop.
Progressive House | Little Daylight – Overdose (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on March 13, 2013
Continuing their trend of remixing indie songs, quite possibly the greatest producing duo to ever exist besides Daft Punk and pretty much everyone else, The Chainsmokers have released another classic. For those who are unaware of who these two fine gentlemen are, i’ll briefly describe them. Have you ever thought about taking a bath and then realized what a ridiculous idea that is? Or how about when you’re home alone so you use the washroom with the door open but then your dog comes in and just stares at you. That’s what The Chainsmokers are. They’re the dog that watches you pee and the bath you don’t want to have. “Why is that?” you may ask. Well that’s because they think Leighton Meester is a 6.5 and Megan Fox is a 10.
But enough about their inaccurate scale of objectifying women, they just released a new song. They say it’s by far their favorite remix they’ve done and I can see why. I’m not sure if I like it better than their classic “Around Us” remix, but it’s definitely close. It’s in my top 200 for sure. The Chainsmokers have perfected the formula that they’ve used for their previous remixes. As well as having mastered such a rare thing these days, an intro that I actually enjoy listening to, they have a knack for injecting the energy of house music into songs while keeping much of the feel of the original intact. Sit back, click play, and ponder this wonderful piece of advice I was given by the guys themselves “if you’re anything as witty as you are online, you will likely get laid before you die… 😉
