Kap Slap & 3LAU, the current frontrunners of the mashup game, decided to bless everyone with an early Halloween treat and drop an “EDM Mayhem” playlist to help you rage this Halloween. Everything from Swedish House Mafia to Dada Life is covered, even Datsik got a spot on this essential playlist. If I had to pick anyone to make me an EDM playlist, I’d go to Kap Slap & 3LAU first, Tiesto second.

Above is the ridiculous video for “Happy Violence”, which makes me need to see them live. Here is a remix they did of David Guetta’s “Little Bad Girl”. They take the song and add that signature heavy electro sound that everyone loves.

Here is the Religion remix of “Fight Club is Closed” by Dada Life that came in second in the remix competition to the FTampa remix, but i would say they are just about equals. Religion changes up the sound of the synth in the drop and has a more subdued build.

Dada Life, Afrojack and R3hab all at once? Sign me up for that. This Joe Garston song has been flying up the electro-house charts on beatport and you can see why. Fresh off of his hit release “Top of the World” earlier this summer (yes summer is technically not over) that was mashed by everyone and their mom, he lets loose this monster. This has a similar sound with that hard hitting electro, synth work and thumping bass.

Kaskade is an absolute boss, that is a fact. Last night he played his first ever essential mix on BBC’s Radio One with Pete Tong and absolutely killed it. Fresh off of being voted the number one DJ in America and deservingly so, his essential mix encompasses everything that is his melodic, euphoric, big room sound, and more. It is packed with hit after hit and is mixed perfectly from song to song. I was a bit disappointed he did not debut another song from his upcoming CD “Fire and Ice” for his first essential mix, but he did play “Turn it Down”, the song he has been playing on Identity Festival with vocals from Rebecca and Fionna. Dada Life are some crazy guys cracking eggs on each others heads and all the other stuff they do, but as long as they continue to crank out heaters, they can do what they want. These next three are some great house tracks, all unique in their own right. Tommy Trash puts his own spin on this great trash and makes it a little heavier with the great vocals and that awesome drop at 2:30.

DBN adds a dark catchy synth riff to this that will get you hooked to this song. Some quality vocals as well and good builds and drops.

Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman throw together a more standard progressive house tune, with that infective synth and bass work. The opening is great and the vocals work really well.
