Dubstep | Tiesto – Take Me (Mr FijiWiji Remix)
Posted by BP on August 17, 2013
Mr FijiWiji never disappoints. His remix of Tiesto’s “Take Me” is an entry in Tiesto’s remix contest on Beatport. The winner gets his/her remix officially released on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label and a few other prizes. So far, this version stands out against the others because Mr FijiWiji changed the whole vibe of the song. It’s ambient and soothing. The percussion is so intricate and the piano dabbled in is just gorgeous. Official voting starts September 10th, but you can stream the song and comment on Beatport already.

Hip-Hop | Asher Roth – Here To Stay feat. CJ Trillo [Pearly Gates Remix] [Prod. By Jim I.E]
Posted by LoffyG on August 9, 2013
As Asher Roth was preparing to release his recent Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2 mixtape, he dropped an
acapella version of “Pearly Gates” for fans to put to their own production in a chance to win a pro Soundcloud account. Producer Jim I.E and his right hand man and MC, Cj Trillo, went to work on it. Jim created a completely new sound for the song and fit Asher’s vocals into it as if they were there to begin with. To top it off CJ Trillo adds a verse to the song. Their hard work was rewarded as they won the contest. This one is definitely worth a listen.

Progressive House | Hey Ocean – Big Blue Wave (Swanson Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 19, 2013
Along with my homeboy Marcus Santoro, Adam McCoy, producing under the name Swanson, is one of the top up and coming producers out of Australia. He made this a while back for a remix contest that he ended up winning popular vote in and is now giving it away for free. His rendition of Hey Ocean’s “Big Blue Wave” is not only atmospheric but also, as much as one can be these days in progressive, unique.

Progressive House | Zara Larsson – Uncover (Richello Remix)

So I was a little late on this one but you have to understand, I haven’t talked to a girl in a month and a half. I’ve been following Richello since like two weeks ago and I got to tell you, my last two weeks have been awful. Regardless, Richello is a great producer and has mastered his style of uplifting progressive house. “Uncover” by Zara Larsson went through a remix contest so in order to get posted you need to stand out, which his remix does.

Contests, Events, Featured | Manufactured Superstars — Zombies in Love (Video/Remix Package) // EDC NYC TICKET GIVEAWAY
Posted by Spice on April 5, 2013
Happy Friday, everyone. We’ve got some great stuff going on so buckle in and get ready. First up is the awesome music video for “Zombies in Love,” the bubbly, warm weather-ready new single from Manufactured Superstars. Thanks to some seriously nifty stop-motion animation, we’re transported to a Lego galaxy far, far away, where our spacesuit-loving protagonists are busy presiding over an intergalactic rave. I won’t divulge the ending but it’s sweetly and unexpectedly heartwarming. Is Lego animation the next big trend in music videos? Too soon to tell, but I certainly hope it catches on. If you can’t get enough of this track, you’re in luck — a massive remix package is set to drop on April 9 via Big Beat / Magik Musik and we’ve got the previews below.
If you’re still not satisfied, it’s really your lucky day — we’re giving away one pair of tickets to Electric Daisy Carnival NYC at Citi Field, where Manufactured Superstars will be performing in May. To enter to win, all you have to do is be 18 or older and “like” their Facebook page by following the instructions below. We’ll randomly select a winner on April 30. Not too shabby, eh?

Electro-House, Progressive House | Lift Off #010
Posted by Mel on March 23, 2013
Many things are changing now that spring is upon us. Girls are going to start wearing more revealing clothing, the weather is going to transition from cold to slightly less cold (I live in Canada), and Lift Off is no longer monthly. From now on, Lift Off will go up weekly on Saturdays, primarily because we didn’t like how the tracks we posted would end up being weeks old. This way, every track that goes up will be no older than a week. It will also mean that there won’t be as many songs on each edition as there were previously, though we feel this is an acceptable sacrifice for more up to date tracks. We start things off above with Reuben Keeney’s “Good times together” which is carried by a Kaskade like piano and soft vocals before hitting a progressive drop.

Candyland released an EP in honor of their Miami debut at WMC. My favorite track of the EP is their festival remix of Timeflies’ “Nothing At All”.
The Plastic People remix of the Imagine Dragons “It’s Time” was my favorite song for quite a while. Markus Cole does a magnificent job of giving the song a progressive refresh that brought the indie-rock song back to life.
No uplifting chords or melodies to be found here, Kevin Drew’s latest “Halogen” is just a massive big room track.
