FYI | Jake Udell Gave Up A Rap Career To Become Krewella’s Manager
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 9, 2014
Jake Udell. What can you say about him that that hasn’t already been said. He’s a highly respected force in the industry. From being mentioned in Bob Lefsetz’s letter to managing Krewella and ZHU, he’s carved a brand for himself, becoming what many have called a super-manager. That’s why the video above is so fascinating. In an interview with AskMen.com, Udell described his budding rap persona.
JU: Yes. That is the last thing I want to bring up in this interview, but my failed career as a recording artist was so essential into making me the manager I am today. When I was 19 the recession hit and people needed essentials like milk more than framed jerseys for their wall. It was the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of college. I realized my goal was to have a voice. Rapping became the vehicle. The record was so bad, but it actually got radio play here in Chicago and other markets.
I could go on and on about Jake Udell and his interview with AskMen, but you’re going to have to read it yourself. A fascinating article about a fascinating person. Read the interview HERE.
FYI | Is This What A Pre-Recorded Set Looks Like
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 6, 2014
Earlier today, our friends at DancingAstronaut.com uncovered some footage of model / DJ/ Instagram narcissist Natalia Paris “DJ’ing” at a gig in Mexico. Although she claims she’s using Traktor, it’s hard to explain away a video that so clearly shows a lack of mixing aptitude. The model / DJ concept is nothing new. Many in the booking world are smartly cashing in on it. In this case, Natalia Paris picked up a $10,000 check. Where there’s demand, supply will always follow. What do you think of her response? Pre-recorded set, or something else?

Review | Dash Berlin’s “We Are, Pt. 1” Tops iTunes Charts
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 1, 2014
Earlier this morning, Armada announced that part one of Dash Berlin’s “We Are, Pt. 1” album has reached number one on the iTunes dance charts. “We Are” is a concise 8 track offering from the Dutch legend, who enlisted the help of acts like 3LAU, John Dahlback, Disfunktion, Jay Cosmic for their production prowess. Perhaps the vocalists shine the brightest, as Dash also included Bright Lights, Collin McLoughlin, and Roxanne Emery on part one of this exceptional body of work.

Standout tracks on the album include “Here Tonight” and “Never Let You Go” that have the ability to transport you into another realm. Dash Berlin’s “We Are” ranks as one of our favorite albums this year, and it’s more than deserving of it’s current position iTunes. There’s no question about it, #WeAre impressed. Keep an eye out for “We Are, Pt. 2” coming soon. Shout out to LK and Borys!

Review | Mike Stud – Closer [Album]
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 20, 2014

Studnation is back and it appears Mike is closer than he’s ever been with his latest album, Closer. In May, Mike released a video to let his fans know about his new album release. The teaser reflects on the journey Mike has made from being a star baseball prospect to an even bigger prospect as a musician. This album shows growth and maturity in Mike’s life and music. He is most focused on being happy and letting the success follow. Does he have room to grow and improve? Most certainly he does, but even Mike knows he has a long journey ahead of him.

There rendition of Best Friend by Foster The People is melodic, powerful and it’s perfect for the Summer.
