Progressive House | Strange Talk – Young Hearts (Marcus Santoro & JAKKO Bootleg)
Posted by Mel on February 10, 2014
Marcus Santoro and Jakko, previously known as Jako, who prior to that was just called Jake-oh, and prior to that just went by his ethnically pure Brazilian name of Lucas Bojakowski, have teamed up to remix Strange Talk’s “Young Hearts”. We have been supporting both of these guys for a while now and their styles fit together perfectly, like a delicate cupcake and a sweet, succulent flower. That flower has slowly at first and then with increasing speed entered that cupcake and what we have now is the merging of each of their sounds. Marcus’ euphoric, uplifting style gels perfectly with Jakko’s euphoric and uplifting style, which in turn creates an uplifting and euphoric track. Must listen, must download!!!

Electro | DSK CHK Debuts “WIL” (What Is Love)
Posted by BIGLIFE on February 9, 2014

Recently debuted for a packed house on the final set of the infamous Groove Cruise 10 Year Anniversary, “WIL” brought the crowd to a roar. The SHM classic style chords mixed with nasty drop that bangs out on all cylinders has been teased now for quite awhile. DSK CHK intro’s a new protege only known as “Brink” and consistent with the DC packaging, there is little known about the artist in the cameo.
DSK CHK leaves us with a steaming hot trailer that would make 50 Shades of Grey look like a high school date. You MUST check this out, but warning, this is not work place friendly!

Electronic, Hip-Hop | Mux Mool – Wax Rose Saturday
Posted by yabishcic on February 8, 2014
This is an oldy-but-goody. From the “Wax Rose Saturday EP”, Mux Mool’s followup to Skulltaste, this was Brian Lindgren’s complete debut as ‘Mux Mool’. If you missed this track when it dropped three years ago, well here’s your chance to catch up.
Contests | Miami Horror X Solé Bicycles Remix Competition for ‘Real Slow’
Posted by Juicebox on February 5, 2014

You know how Zedd got his start? A remix competition. You know how Madeon got his start? A remix competition. You know how Bill Clinton became president? A remix competition. My point…if you’re trying to make it as a producer / DJ, remix competitions are a great way to get discovered. What’s even better about this competition? Not only do you land an official remix on their remix package, but you also win that awesome bike pictured above. Contest details after the jump, I’ll let Miami Horror take it from here – “We are very proud and excited to have teamed up with one of our favorite local California bicycle makers, Sole Bicycles, to launch our latest remix contest for our latest single, “Real Slow”. In anticipation of this, we’ve created our very own custom fixed gear bike that you can WIN by entering this contest. Not only that, but the winner of this remix contest will also see their recording released digitally as part of our remix package. Two prizes for the price of one?!?! We wouldn’t have it any other way…”
Bass | DJ SNAKE – Turn Down For What (Dotcom’s Retwerk)
Posted by Juicebox on February 3, 2014
Just when you thought “Turn Down For What” was dead, Dotcom brings this anthem back to life with his signature style heavy hitting sound. Coming off a huge past couple of months, Dotcom recently signed to Circle Talent Agency home to Flux Pavilion, Crizzly, & Protohype, and more! With touring now in the mix, it’s safe to say Dotcom is about to have a big year.
Hip-Hop, Playlists | Jeff’s 15 Best Hip-Hop Tracks of 2013
Posted by jeffwbaird on December 23, 2013
With the mainstream sound shifting further towards hip-hop (or is it the other way around?) the way it has in 2013, it’s become quite a good climate for rappers. While this year has had its share of successes and rises to fame (see Chance The Rapper, Logic), though, it’s certainly had its share of disappointments. Read on to see my selections as the year’s best work in hip-hop.
Hip-Hop | RICK ROSS – THE DEVIL IS A LIE (FT. JAY Z)
Posted by Hamtaro on December 19, 2013
Rozay releases the anticipated song The Devil Is A Lie with Jay Z today and it was well worth the wait. The combo of Ross and Jay is one of my favorites in hip hop and I hope more is to come after this and You Know I Got It. Look for Bosses album MasterMind at the beginning of 2014.
