Cam Meekins’ free album :) :/ :( is finally here. After hearing multiple tracks off the project such as “Cut Me Off” & “#FuckYoBitch”, I knew Cam was onto something different compared to his past projects. I’ve listened to the entire mixtape and it indeed has a totally different sound. In Cam’s beginning he used to make songs where he’d sing hooks over beats that had a more pop sound such as tracks from the Dancing With The Stars mixtape. Cam is now proving his lyrical abilities and still singing as well, but with a more developed sound. Going in over relatively simple beats while keeping the baseline heavy. I recommend this to anyone looking for something new.

Cam Meekins drops a new video for #FuckYoBtich off his free album :) :/ :( which drops this upcoming Monday (5/21). Definitely one of Cam’s better videos in my opinion and the song is dope too. If you missed the “On The Spot” interview I did with Cam you can check that after the jump!

Cam Meekins releases a new track exclusively with FNT that’s a spinoff of Purity Ring’s “Odebear”. I dig the way Cam went in on this one. He has grown so much as an artist since his days of Dancing With The Stars. I was also able to get Cam on the line for my “On The Spot” interview. We talk a ton of different topics such as 3D movies, his longest road trip, who makes the best french fries, the free album and more. We are only 2 weeks away from the release of :) :/ :( so be on the lookout for that here when it drops!

Cam Meekins latest release “Blazed and Confused 2” is a 10 track mixtape, previewing the dankness that is about to be his upcoming free album being released on May 21st. In usual Cam style, he straight up murders “Represent”, “Shiraz” and “Organic Food”, with “Phone Tap” and “Cas Drawl” being on the chiller side. Cam Meekins releases his second music video of the year, The Receipt. Along with dropping the video he announced he will be releasing a free album titled “:) :/ :(” on May 21st. How do you pronounce that you ask? I was asking myself the same thing, but Cam said via twitter that he was leaving it up to the fans to decide. Personally, this is another dope song and video in my opinion. I was impressed with his previous release “Cut Me Off” and this one is just as quality. The video was again directed and shot by Cam Meekins and Brian Petchers. Definitely looking forward to this project release!

I caught up with Mike Stud while he was in Minneapolis, MN on his Toast To Tommy Tour. He has to be one of the chillest guys that I’ve met. He was down with all his fans at the show, and took time to meet pretty much everyone that wanted. Not only was Mike Stud an awesome dude but DJ Fader was as well. These two as a duo on the road are unbeatable. They know how to have a good time and that’s just what we did!

I also sat down with Mod Sun after the show. He was one of the opening acts and definitely “lived” it as he would say. He’s a great artist from Minnesota and definitely one of my favorite out right now. This interview was a bit out of control, but a great time nonetheless. Yes, I’ll admit we had more than one drink before we filmed this! It’s funny to see how my personality did a 360 in a matter of hours between filming these interviews. I brought up the topic of favorite upcoming artist(s) and it ended up turning into our favorite artists, haha. Shouts to Tayyib Ali, Sammy Adams, and Cam Meekins on this one!? Enjoy.

Cam drops some quick bars on this freshly released track, “Sentences”. Glad to see he’s back on his grind dropping new music. He went on brief hiatus while working out in Califronia, but since then he’s been dropping quality material. His previous release “Cut Me Off” has been in constant rotation since its release.
