After getting big by brilliantly remixing tracks and giving them away for free, The Chainsmokers have sold out worse than Calvin Harris and made TWO tracks in a row that are only available on Beatport. These guys are some real jerks. I forgive them though because they are nice to me. This track really needs no explaining if you’ve heard any of their other stuff. An indie-pop instrumental with a touch of progressive house, this time accompanied by the vocals to The Wanted’s “We Own The Night”. More reminiscent of their “Julian” remix than their more progressive stuff. If you feel like throwing a nickel their way then head over to Beatport to grab it. If not or if you live in Canada where it is for some reason restricted in, then you know where to go.

October 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20th, for 5 days in October, Amsterdam is about to be taken over by the worldwide Dance community, along with Mimada, and yours truly! Both Mimada and I will be representing FNT, attending shows by DJ Shadow, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Tiesto, and many more! Over 50 venues spread out through out the Dutch city, will be hosting top notch producers and DJs, from happy hour to the early morning. Not only will we be attending shows, we will also be attending the ADE Playground and Conference, reporting and testing out all the new innovative technology that producers and DJs are using, along with listening to a list of panels on the current state of the EDM scene, and what can be done to move forward. Mimada and I will also be the first to know the top 100 DJ Mag list for 2013, as the list will be announced at the ADE!
FNT has always supported the EDM, Dance scene from the get, allowing many DJs and producers from all over the world to be introduced to the American market. We are proud to be attending the conference, and we look forward to partaking in this worldwide event. Moombahton | GTA – Yolohton

This track is stupid, it’s so good. GTA releases “Yolohton” under Calvin Harris’ label Fly Eyes Record, and it’s a party! This is GTA’s first original track since they dropped “Boy Oh Boy” featuring Diplo, along with their remix of Calvin Harris’ latest single “Thinking About You” a few months back. “Yolohton” reminds me of Bauer’s “Harlem Shake” with an electro twist. Expect to hear this track all over, I can only imagine the scene going nuts, once this track is dropped at festivals…

Featured | Ayah Marar talks working with Calvin Harris, The Real, & more! (FNT Exclusive)

Last week, I had the pleasure and honor to roll with UK artist Ayah Marar on her first US promo tour, promoting her chart topping single with Calvin Harris “Thinking About You,” off the double platinum selling album “18 Months,” and her debut album “The Real.” Ayah and I had a chance to sit and talk regarding her career, working with Calvin Harris, how “The Real” came about, and what we should expect from her in the future.
Personally, I’ve had “The Real” on repeat since I was introduced to it. The album is the fine line between underground music and mainstream music, and what’s great about it, is that it’s done organically, and not forced. My favorite tracks off the album would have to be “Beg Borrow Steal,” as it has big vocals, and an anthemic sound, and the titled track “The Real.” Her track with Calvin “Thinking About You” is also a banger! When the acapella of this song was given away by Calvin Harris himself, I immediately went to the washroom, splashed some water on my face and put some lotion on my hands cause they were kinda dry in preparation of an amazing remix that I knew was sure to come. I’m not really a huge fan of the original. To me it’s just a semi-enjoyable pop song. In fact, I just watched the music video for it and am now a bit annoyed because Mr. Harris and Ellie Goulding kissed a few times and as a guy I don’t really know how to react to two people kissing it’s like they are just making me feel bad that I don’t have a gf but whatever I don’t even care. I was waiting for somebody to turn the pop song into a huge, wonderfully atmospheric progressive track and when I saw that Swanson had remixed it I knew my search was over. To me, the original is a night spent watching cooking tutorial videos on Youtube while Swanson’s remix is a night spent hanging out with Miley Cyrus and watching her make a fool of herself like in that one music video. So, in conclusion, Swanson remixed this track perfectly. If you enjoyed Ellie’s vocals but wanted an instrumental with a little more substance then this is it.

I know I don’t deal in remixes much, unless they’re of the hip-hop variety. But I know good music when I hear it. When critiquing non hip-hop music, my ear changes from stiff analyzation and cricial listening, and just goes to “well this sounds good.” When I first heard Urban Noize’s latest concoction, I thought to myself, “This sounds GREAT,” so I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone here, and decided to post it for all of you to enjoy. So forget my lack of terms for this type of music, and forgive my lack of eloquence, and enjoy the damn music. It sounds great.

It has been 363 days since I first posted their first ever releases — a batch of remixes for Adele, Flo Rida and Calvin Harris. Now they are circling the world, playing festivals and getting a release on Protocol Recordings. Vicetone are for real and have been since day one. “Tremble” is vintage Vicetone, with powerful synth chords, and an emotive string-led build, all wrapped into a well-produced track, as always that shows just how polished these guys are.
