Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Radical Something and the release of their most popular song “Be Easy”, which just surpassed 400,000 views on YouTube. To celebrate, Radical Something released this greatest hits album which includes tracks from We Are Nothng & No Sweat. It also features some never before heard demo tracks of California, Freedom & Long Hair Don’t Care! These guys have been on an amazing journey since last summer and we at FreshNewTracks are glad to have been a part of it! Catch the video that started it all after the jump!

Black Hippy, comprised of California boys Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, SchoolBoy Q, and Jay Rock, team up together to go in on this beautiful track. The lyrical content is above and beyond anything I’ve heard in a long time. Beginning with Kendrick and ending with Jay, the song makes for one of the best releases in 2012, well at least in my opinion. Each of the four, although sounding unique and different than the other, mesh so well on this track. Ab-Soul’s brand new album, Control System, is due out tomorrow so look back for that one. Also, Kendrick and SchoolBoy Q will be touring this summer so be on the lookout for them in your city!

WOAH! This track was completely unexpected. Who is Skorby? Great question, I was asking the same thing. Skorby is a 17 year old DJ from LA, California and damn does he bring the heat. This heavy electro-house original is a game changer. The track starts with a progressive house attitude, and send a shock to your system once that dirty dance floor electro breaks in your eardrums. I hope we get more tracks like this from the up and comer.

While the crisp winter breeze may still be in the air for some of us unfortunate northerners, California’s warm weather is back in our speakers. Radical Something just released their second project, a six track EP entitled No Sweat. We’ve shown tons of love for these guys since the start and are proud to be involved in this project.
As you probably know by now, their music and sound is much different than anything that’s out right now and that’s what makes them unique. Big Red smashes the MPC and production (and even throws down a mystery verse on “Say Yes” at about the 1:30 mark), Loggy dishes out the hip-hop side of things while Josh Cocktails boasts his powerful voice, adding flavor to every track. What is most impressive to me about this group is their ability to work cohesively and offer versatility while maintaining their sound. Hearing their music always brightens the mood. This has a much different vibe than We Are Nothing their debut album which dropped towards the end of last summer and shows the progression from the trio. Progressive House | Rufftek – Silence

This track is huge! Rufftek is a young producer from California, who has only been producing since early 2011. For only have been producing for a year, this is an insane original track. I love the chords he uses, reminds me more of the older classic house tracks. This has definitely become one of my favorite house tracks, I am just in love with the vibes this track gives off.
