RnB | Leonard Friend – Serious Music

Posted by on January 13, 2012

Introducing Leonard Friend, an R&B/Pop artist based out of Los Angeles, CA in the mold of Justin Timberlake & Robin Thicke (high praise yes, but there are some similarities.) Leonard Friend almost quit music during the winter of 2010 when he decided to leave his post as front man of the now defunt Brooklyn band, The XYZ. Whether you like Leonard Friend or not, you must respect the ridiculous dancing he pulls off while sitting in a chair. Look for Leonard’s first project, EP Lynyrd Frynd dropping January 30th.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Radical Something – California (Official Video)

Posted by on October 17, 2011

After getting back from their mini-European tour, Radical Something is ready to hit the ground running. Their latest release is these stunning visuals for the single California off their debut album We Are Nothing (which you can grab on iTunes here). Here is what they had to say about the video:

The video was shot in 2 days against the backdrop of sunny Venice Beach, CA. The song was written and recorded during the final hours of our studio lockdown this past May in Florida. We were inspired by our home state, and wanted to put together a visually stimulating, fun, colorful, and honest depiction of our lives in California.

If that wasn’t enough excitement for ya, well when this video hits 100,000 views, Radical Something will be releasing their next music video, Freedom, which is currently in post production

Hip-Hop | Tony Moxberg ft. Jadakiss & Emmany – It Was All A Dream

Posted by on July 26, 2011

Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the visuals to Kid Ink’s “California Dreaming” earlier today when I posted his other tracks. If you’re into CA, you’ll be into this video. And of course I couldn’t keep up these awesome Hip Hop posts without throwing in some quality songs. Haters just #goplankintraffic.

Electro, Hip-Hop, Mainstream Remix | Ellie Goulding – Lights (RAC Remix)

Posted by on July 20, 2011

Like BIGLIFE at the bars in CA, RAC is about as bulletproof as it gets. The buzz about the Remix Artists Collective continues to grow with every dropped beat. The gang dropped their Lights Remix yesterday and although this Goulding hit endured several facelifts, botox shots, boob jobs, etc over the past few months I could still appreciate their interpretation. That says a lot. Buy the remix on iTunes and as a bonus I’ve included a gnarly RAC remix to Theophilus London’s “Why Even Try”. Both are must listens, quite possibly must downloads.

Dont pass this one up just because its second…

Here at FNT we are all about epic parties, and the one we helped throw at Santa Clara at the end of May, was one for the books. With three DJ’s spinning all day, there wasn’t a sole who wasn’t swept up by the filthy beats. Here’s a rundown of the three DJ’s featured at this party: NiteGold, This One’s For Cody and The DARK.

The individual efforts of the NiteGOLD members, Mike Diamond, My Cousin Vinny and Allan Guevara, have proven to all they are promised future leaders in electronic dance music.

Born and raised in Newport Beach, CA, Eric “Stoop Kid” Dobson and Tyler “Red Five” van Hensbergen know what it takes to flood the dance floor. Dressed in their signature hockey jerseys, TOFC are never ones to stray away from their roots.

The Dark first entered the DJ scene a year ago rocking the underground scene in Portland Oregon. He recently moved out to Las Vegas to make a bigger name for himself. Although he likes to remain loyal to the underground music scene he can rock anything from a frat party to a rave.

Hip-Hop | FBI Releases Biggie Murder File | Hip-Hop

Posted by on April 8, 2011

The FBI released their very redacted file on the murder of Notorious B.I.G. I just finished reading the whole thing and will give a brief overview of key points stated. Note that because the FBI blacked out a lot of things including many names there is only so much one can take from it.

Biggie was pumped full of 9mm Gecko ammunition which is only manufactured in Germany, and can only be obtained in the US in NJ and CA. Most if not all of the security members and LAPD present at the function were Bloods and known to do security for Death Row.

Something else I found interesting was that many unnamed individuals were able to help with complete sketches of the shooter. The file talks a lot about Tupacs legal history, the East Vs West rivalry, and most importantly Biggie’s involvement with the Genevese crime family of NY.

Check out the file yourself on the FBI’s Website.

Hip-Hop | CHILL RAP | Mac Miller, Webby (gasp!) and The Higher Concept

Posted by on January 14, 2011

According to Mac Millers twitter (and his comment before his verse), he basically landed in CA and immediately recorded this track yesterday with Juicy J. Kid is straight up killing it. I feel badly for Webby, he’s the only rapper from this original circle who really hasn’t made it, weird. I guess I’ll throw him a bone and post the Starry Eyed remix off his recent mixtape haha. Lastly, I’ve included a new joint from The Higher Concept. The initial verse is a little awkward, but the hook made up for it and carried my ears through. Definitely keeping this one on the pod (check out their other FNT mentions here)
