Hip-Hop, Videos | Little Pain – High Cry (Official Music Video)
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 18, 2013
I just read a pretty interesting write up on “Sad Rap” , and it seems like Little Pain is leading the revolution. Little Pain comes to you from Crown Heights, Brooklyn. At age of 21 Pain has only been rapping for about 4 or 5 months but has been “sad my whole life”. Pain is working on his “sadtape” entitled “When Thugz Cry” due out in 2013. One of the more interesting things to come out of hip hop, curious to see whats next for Little Pain.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Dillon Cooper – State of Elevation [Music Video]

Brooklyn boy, Dillon Cooper, recently shared his second video single off his highly anticipated debut project, Cozmik. Similar to his first release, Survival of the Fittest, Coop flexes on a 90’s sounding beat by Muvafux. Dillon elevates from his previous releases with ingenious wordplay, a smooth hook and an non stop energy in front of the camera. Release date for the mixtape is still unknown, but I’m confident Dillon won’t release this until he reaches a state of perfection.

The party you wanted to go to, but never could because it was always over in Europe (unless you are European), last year made made that dream come true with its debut in the US, at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. A couple weeks back I presented you with Cam Meekins’ newest song “Inhale”. After accumulating over 35,000 plays via Soundcloud we now have the visuals to accompany it. Per usual, Cam helps direct the video along with Goodwin, giving it that simple yet authentic feel his videos comprise of. At the end of the video the album artwork for Cam’s upcoming album Lamp City flashes. If you missed it, you can check it out along with the explanation of why he choose it here. Catch Cam live at one of his upcoming shows in Boston or Brooklyn using the link below!
Hip-Hop | Maxxx Flair — New York City Raised Me
Posted by jeffwbaird on March 4, 2013
It’s no surprise that the majority of present-day emcees have begun veering towards the strategy of “quantity” as a means of getting noticed. They release new projects at an expeditious rate, more concerned with their name remaining in the headlines then they are with producing work of the highest quality. Rarely do I find an artist who is able to effectively bridge this as well as Yonkers-based emcee Maxxx Flair. Though he creates at a brisk pace, the sound is never compromised. Cue his new project, Wake Up, due this spring, and a new single that he’s sent our way, entitled “New York City Raised Me.” Back with frequent collaborator Snake-Eyes, a Brooklyn-based producer and engineer, we can expect the same level of prowess and lyrical ability on this new tape as we’ve become accustomed to from Maxxx, as is well evidenced by this old-school-style record. Check it out and get ready for Wake Up.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Dillon Cooper – Survival Of The Fittest [Music Video]

Dillon Cooper is on the brink of breaking out of his shell – no pun intended (get it? Brink. Brink Brinker. Disney Movie. Rollerblades. Dillon Cooper blades.). Poised with passion, energy, and a special musical blessing, Brooklyn’s own Dillon Cooper shares the first video single off of his forthcoming debut project, Cozmik. Cooper’s musical inspiration is driven by spirit of pro roller blade skater and best friend Brian “Cozmik” Scott, who was tragically murdered during a BK robbery back in 2010.
The 19-year old may have only lived through the tail end of hip-hop’s golden era, but he packs a full flare of raw, 90’s inspiration into his music. A spunky freshness comparable to Bel-Air’s Prince, Cooper showcases his wordplay while staying very animated in front of the camera. Speaking of the camera, “Survival of the Fittest” was directed and edited by Hi-Lite Reel Boston. Stay tuned, big things coming from this young gun.
Cozmik, ??/??/??.
