Indie | Synchronice & Kasum – Glorious (Chet Porter Remix)
Posted by JT on February 12, 2015
Chet Porter is by far one of the most unpredictable producers on the rise. No boost – every time I press play on a Chet Porter track I have no idea what to expect. This one steps away from the traditional “build and drop” formula dominating EDM airwaves worldwide. It starts off in an epic fashion and continues beautifully into another world. The vocals are utilized perfectly. You can’t classify this and that’s what I love about this remix and Chet Porter’s productions. It’s a free download and I highly recommend adding this to your iTunes playlist. Don’t believe me? Press play.
FYI | Did DJ Serafin Jack Mednas and CID’s Collaboration?
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 23, 2014

It all started with a tweet. LIV Miami resident Mednas tweeted earlier today that he had discovered an unnamed DJ slash producer slash charlatan had stolen his intellectual property. Not just any intellectual property. It happened to be his “iLL Behavior” collaboration with super-producer CID who’s NY based. In fact, it was claimed by Mednas the DJ in question even had the track name changed when you “Shazamed” the record. We came across the story and couldn’t help but do some digging.
Here’s what we found: The DJ’s name is DJ Serafin, real name Jeremy Jimenez. He’s an LA based “producer” who’s signed to Peak Hour Music. He apparently has a few dates booked and seems to have a semi-legitimate Facebook and Twitter presence. Seems to check out. Not so fast. It only took a little searching in iTunes (and Amazon) and Spotify to find the real zinger.

NGHTMRE and Davey Gray hit us with their latest remix of Porter Robinson’s “The Seconds” and I’m getting the chills just listening to it. Now I’ll be honest, I haven’t yet hopped on the Porter Robinson wave, and I’m cool with being late to the party, but what’s the original when you have this hard hitting melodious trap remix, by the California producer who doesn’t believe in vowels other than the letter “e” and his homie Davey? This one’s for all my trance lovers, and my trap heads, it’s a guaranteed must listen and a must download!

Electronic | Stromae – Ta Fête (J.A.C.K Remix)

Yooo don’t sleep on this remix of Stromae’s “Ta Fete” by French producer J.A.C.K. it’s on some other level, on a such a whole other level that I almost want to believe that Daft Punk had something to do with this remix, and J.A.C.K. is just an alias. This infectious electronic remix has 21st century French House written all over it, and it can’t get any better, being a child of the French House era (shout out to all my French peeps!). If there’s anything you listen to today, make sure you make this one it, this is a must listen!
Progressive House | Danzfolk – Talos
Posted by Middy on March 23, 2014
I have been singing these guys’ praises for some time now and with the second volume of their epic MYTHOS trilogy in the books, I hope you can see why. No I don’t represent them, but just believe their music should be in front of more people. With “Leviathan” in the books, they head to Greece to unveil their next myth “Talos”. Taken from their soundcloud page, read below for some background on the myth,
‘Talos’ was a gigantic creature and guardian of Crete. Zeus presented him to his lover, Europa, as her personal protector from pirates and invaders. Talos was given the task of patrolling the island, circling it three times in a day. The giant did not allow any enemy ships to approach, hurling massive rocks to sink the wooden ships of those who dared to threaten Crete. If any managed to escape these and set foot on land, a horrific surprise lay in store for them. Talos entered a fire until his bronze body was red hot. Then he clasped his enemies in a tight embrace, burning them to death. Their bodies were found with their mouths wide open in agony and horror.
Exactly like the purpose of this series, the song has a mystical nature to it. “Talos” tells a story, one that builds beautifully like the island of Crete and then strikes with the controlled aggression of the song’s namesake. The tune is free and is about as good as free gets. If you want more Danzfolk, listen to this mix from them below.

Hip-Hop | Choo Jackson – Windows
Posted by VMan on February 20, 2014
Choo Jackson releases visuals for “Windows” directed by ElephantxElephan, off his forthcoming sophomore project “Slightly Dark.” The 23-year-old Pennsylvania native is signed to Mac Miller’s REMember Music label, and preaches on this one with a “smooth like leather” flow. The life of an up and coming rapper is not easy, you really have to believe in yourself no matter what everyone else tells you, and Choo expresses this on his record. We believe in you Choo, your window of opportunity is open and at reach. This is a must listen and look out for his upcoming project!
Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike Stud – Mike Jordan [#SundayStudDay]
Posted by FilthyTaft on February 18, 2014
I swear that Sunday Stud Days get better and better every Sunday. This past Sunday, Mike Stud dropped a new song and video titled “Mike Jordan,” but it’s much more than a song. The first minute is an inspirational monologue Stud gives that tells us how he got to where he is. The line that stuck with me most is: “never let anyone or anything kill your dream, because the moment you believe something is impossible, it is.” After the speech, the song and the visuals pick up, with a smooth instrumental from Louis Bell and dope visuals from Jon Kilmer as usual. The song itself is pretty melodic and involves more singing and pitch than just straight rapping – similar to the style of Chance the Rapper. Amazing project all around, so watch the video and download the single here.
